Have you been thinking about the perfect outdoor setting to propose to your special lady? You and many other men are not alone, all trying to make an exciting engagement story.
For starters, you have to make sure that the weather is up to par. Nighttime would be more ideal than a heavy rainfall, unless you plan on singing your proposal and you and your girlfriend are getting drenched. But I seriously doubt that. Make sure you have a ring for her so she knows your proposal isn’t a spontaneous one, and she’ll feel more willing to say yes right away. Plan a weekend getaway for the two of you. Maybe invite a few friends and close family members. Spend the day seeing the sights, and then plan to have a romantic dinner followed by a walk on the beach.
A cousin of mine, we’ll call her Michelle, went to Nags Head, North Carolina with her boyfriend, whom we’ll call Dustin, and their mutual friends for a weekend getaway. A friend of theirs parents owns a timeshare which they stayed to avoid hotel costs.
On Saturday, they went out to breakfast and went to various shops and boutiques. My girlfriend and I soon joined them for lunch as my girlfriend had to work the night before. Ahead of time, my girlfriend and I picked a secluded location where high tide won’t reach and the wind isn’t very strong, and set up the bonfire so it would be ready for lighting.
All of the couples snuggled together gazing at the burning embers. Dustin tells her, “You are very much like that fire. You’re the light of my life, and you set my heart on fire every time I look at you. I can’t imagine anything more wonderful than coming back to this beach every year to celebrate the anniversary of this moment.”
Then he produced a Princess Cut Halo Diamond Engagement Ring from his jacket pocket. Tears of excitement was accompanied by a wide grin on her face. Michelle tried desperately to catch her breath, but she found in nearly impossible to do so.
Me, my girlfriend and their friends were suddenly taking pictures of them as Michelle was crying with tears of joy as she blurted out, “Yes, I will marry you,” and Dustin hugged her tightly.
The following year, the wedding ceremony was held at a resort hotel not to far from where Dustin proposed to Michelle on that enchanting moonlit night.
