My boyfriend is 15 years older than me. He thinks he’s starting to look older. We were on vacation recently and his daughter said, “Dad you aren’t fat, you just have ‘man body,’ it’s normal for a guy your age.” If you have the beer belly that won’t quit, even though you’ve quit drinking beer, I’ve got some great weight loss tips that aren’t that hard to follow. All you have to do is eat. According to Men’s Health, these are some of the best fat burning foods for men.
Go ahead, drink it out of the carton, no one will know, but they will notice when you start dropping pounds! Milk is a serious fat burner because the calcium is a metabolic trigger. Will chugging milk make you look like Hugh Jackman? No, but combine it with some whole grain oats or cereal for breakfast and you’re on your way to looking like the guy your wife married.
If you don’t mind a little spice in your life, go to town on jalapeno and habanero peppers. Men’s Health quotes two independent studies, showing that eating spicy foods can actually increase your metabolism by 25 percent and cause you to burn more calories than guys who play it safe. Don’t be a hero with the habaneros. Try it at home before showing your girlfriend just how many you can eat at once.
You can go all caveman! No veggie wraps or rabbit food here! A study by Arizona State University found that, a high protein diet is great for dropping the pounds because your body has to work harder to process protein than it does to process carbs or fatty foods. That’s good news for the carnivores reading this. Stick with lean meats though; lean beef, chicken, and turkey are best.
You wanted to go fishing anyway, right? You’ll need to catch salmon and tuna. Why? Men’s Health says that these fish alter a hormone in your body called leptin. Here’s where it get’s really interesting; the lower your leptin levels, the more fat you burn. A study was done that showed that men who ate fish as a primary staple in their diet had leptin levels about five times lower than men who didn’t. That adds up to some serious fat burning. Read the article here. Break out the camping gear (or the minivan and Von’s card), but stock up on tuna and salmon.
Put Your Back Into It:
According to Men’s Science Magazine, people eat less when they have to work for their food. Interesting; when we don’t have things handed to us through a little square window, we eat less and healthier. In a nutshell; eat nuts! Nuts like sunflower seeds, pistachios, and peanuts all require a little effort. You aren’t going to burn 1,000 calories but it’s way better than a slice of pizza or a Hot Pocket. Nuts are a great source of unsaturated fat. Depending on where you live, you can take working for your food to the next level through hunting or gardening.
Try incorporating one of these foods per week into your diet until you eat them on a regular basis. Eating healthy has never tasted so good.
