Kiss the Blarney Stone for a Memorable Saint Patrick’s Day Party

by yak max

Saint Patrick’s Day, which is quickly approaching, offers a time where folks can get together for a fun party. He or she can put together a party without breaking the bank. Most people opt to open up their home for a cozy party.

Purchase party invitations or design invitations with an R.S.V.P. and send out at least two weeks in advance of the party date. If money is a concern and you have a computer and printer you can design your own invitations geared towards this event.

Decorations

Make a list of decorations needed, foods to serve, entertainment, games and special lighting to set the party in the right mode.

Visit all a dollar store where everything is a dollar or less. Party stores offer a wealth of unique party items that will not break the bank.

Throwing a Saint Patrick’s Day party can be fun and enjoyable and a party that guests talk about for days afterward. Green and white are the colors to purchase for this party atmosphere. Purchase disposable utensils and plates as this is easiest on the host allowing for less clean up time.

Hang shamrocks to adorn the front door, entry, and dining room. Decorate with rolls of green and white paper streamers. Paste up a few rainbows with black pots filled with gold coins or gold wrapped chocolates.

No Irish get together should be without a big Blarney Stone. Set this by your entrance, so when guests arrive, they can kiss the Blarney Stone and receive a shamrock to wear.

A party is not a party without the appropriate subtle Irish music in the background.

Game Tools

As guests arrive, hand everyone a green Irish hat with a number taped inside the hat and a shamrock to wear in plain sight after they kiss the Blarney Stone. Explain that this is for a game later in the party. All participants must leave hats on in order to win a possible prize. Green plastic tablecloths, disposable plates, cups and napkins adorn the lovely green tables. Safely place green and white candles or lights around the room.

Alternate green and white streamers from each guest’s plate to the center of the table centerpiece. Purchase a small, inexpensive crazy gift for each guest, and wrap it up as a small gift at each plate at the end of the streamers on the table. In the center of the table place, a medium size black pot wrapped up in clear gift-wrap as a gift later for the winner of a game.

There are many food ideas for this party. Foods can consist of dessert, a full meal, or simple finger foods. If the party is a potluck, request that party participants bring a food dish to contribute. The host generally supplies the meat and everyone else can bring a passing dish.
