Not since the recent Darkseid challenge has the introduction of a character been so anticipated. Killer Frost’s debut to the ‘Injustice; Gods Among Us’ mobile game has been one of the most significant and sought after inclusions in recent memory. Definitely a fan-favorite, Killer Frost’s icy appearance into the game promises to tip the scales of your team roster and inject some serious power to your fighting crew. The latest challenge from NetherRealm Studios and Warner Brothers, who develop and publish the game, consists of five levels. Complete all five levels and you are awarded the gold level Regime Killer Frost character that you can add to your team roster.
The Regime Killer Frost Challenge
To obtain the Regime Killer Frost character you must first beat the challenge. The challenge consists of five levels of battles where at the successful completion of each level you obtain an item that belongs to Killer Frost; Killer Frost’s Rimebound Choker, Ice Sword, Rimebound Armor, Ice Throne and Rimebound Boots in that order. Win each of those items and you are awarded the gold level Regime Killer Frost card that lets you to add this cold-hearted villain to your team roster. Here at the details of each challenge:
- · Challenge 1 – Only Bronze Level Characters Can Be Used
- · Challenge 2 – Harley Quinn Must be on Your Team
- · Challenge 3 – Only Bronze or Silver Characters Can Be Used
- · Challenge 4 – Bane Must be on Your Team
- · Challenge 5 – Black Adam must be on Your Team
As usual, the challenge can be replayed again in ‘expert’ mode and a third time in ‘nightmare’ mode to get a second and third character card. This lets you ‘promote’ Killer Frost to get higher damage and health stats. However, as the names suggest, the difficulty level becomes much greater as you move up the challenge ladder.
The Killer Frost Character
Coming well-equipped with an initial 700 damage and 1250 health, Killer Frost is comparable to recent challenge characters such as Mortal Kombat Scorpion and Martian Manhunter. As usual, these values increase with battle experience and as you level-up. Killer Frost also comes with three special attack moves that she can use to make short work of her opponents; ‘Cold as Ice’, ‘Thin Ice’ and ‘Endless Whiteout’. Each of these offensive moves makes use of Killer Frost’s ability to control ice, making her attacks particularly devastating. To top it all off, Killer Frost’s passive power of ‘Polar Vortex’ makes her the empress of ice. The ‘Polar Vortex’ ability reduces all healing effects of her opponent by a whopping 90% making her an effective counter-weight to characters with healing gear or abilities. Special attack activation also reduces the power generation and speed of an opponent by a nippy 50%. If you’ve used Elseworld Flash’s ‘Bullet Time’ passive, you’ll quickly see the edge you’ll gain from Killer Frost’s advanced powers.
I’ve only had Regime Killer Frost for a couple of days now, but she is quickly becoming one of my most powerful and enjoyable characters to play. Her awesome attack capabilities, wonderfully rendered skin and her fabulous mohawk makes Killer Frost a serious contender in any battle and a must have for any serious ‘Injustice: Gods Among Us’ player.
