The super hero theme is very popular with most kids — boys and girls. Games and activities give the kids a chance to flex their super hero muscles in a fun format. Use the games at a super hero birthday party or as a boredom buster at home.
Super Hero Training
They may be born with some of their powers, but super heroes still have to train to be at their peak. Let the kids practice their super hero skills with a training circuit. Set up several different stations that test physical abilities that a super hero might have.
Stretch streamers across a hallway to make a laser course the kids have to crawl through. Make a barbell with big Styrofoam balls on the ends as the weights. Have the kids leap over buildings — small cardboard boxes painted as buildings. Stack a wall of bricks made from cardboard boxes that the kids smash through.
Super Hero Identity
Who says you need Batman or Superman to have a good time? Let the kids come up with their own secret identities in this activity. The kids come up with a costume design, name and super powers. If you have the supplies on hand, let the kids make their own capes and masks to go along with the super hero secret identity.
Save the Super Hero
This activity is fun for a hot day. Freeze a small plastic super hero toy in a large block of ice. Fill a container with water and place the super hero toy in it. Let it freeze overnight or until it is solid. The kids have to save the super hero by melting the ice as fast as they can.
Super Hero Tag
In this active game, the tagger is the super hero. The rest of the players are the villains. The super hero tries to tag the villains to catch them. Anyone who is tagged is reformed and becomes a good guy. Those reformed villains start helping tag the remaining villains. Continue play until everyone has been tagged.
