I remember my mother juicing fresh oranges when I was young using a gadget much like the one in the picture here. Before I start my review, let me say that I have loved Jack LaLanne for so many years, since I was a young girl when I first saw him on television showing off his strength and fitness while doing various feats like push ups and sit ups. Who knew he would end up designing a power juicer which also comes in a Pro version. Juicing is the way of the future, especially for detox, health and wellness.
Jack and his wife have spent a lifetime sharing their love of health and wellness with the world. With the recent popularity of juicing the LaLanne’s jumped on the bandwagon and designed their own version of a juicer. I wish I could give it a 5-Star review, but sadly after using it for a few days, I find it does not hold up to my demands and I am returning it.
This does not mean that it’s not a good juicer or that it is not worth purchasing, I won’t go that far, but for those of you who are juicing fanatic’s you just might want to consider passing this one by for something more powerful that will get the job done and hold up to the demands of an active juicer.
Purchased for a great price at Costco, I was excited to go home a try out my new juicer. I did not read up on the RMP’s or the watt’s, I went by the name and expected it would be a good choice. Although it was super quiet, just like they claimed it would be I found that I was having trouble with it bogging down while I was using it in the same way I had used my previous juicer.
The other thing I found was that the waste bin filled up much faster and when I dumped it into the trash bag, I notice how much of the food was actually left in large chunks and unprocessed. You get a large enough container, but when the full juice potential of foods is not being extracted, you are wasting food and not getting the full benefits possible.
It’s my opinion, this is a great choice for people who are new to juicing , just starting out and don’t want to spend a fortune. I should also mention that when I juice I do it in bulk and make about a gallon to last me for a couple of days, so the demand on the juicer is higher than if you were going to be juicing a single glass for yourself.
The one thing I like much better about this juicer than my previous one is that the clean up was much easier and that is a much welcomed feature and one other thing is the spout which can be clicked in an upright position and the juice stops flowing which is very handy when the glass is full and there is more juice coming.
