Studies show that students are cheating not only to just complete homework just to get by, but to thrive in the classroom. But what is cheating? It is when a person purposely copies or plagiarizes another person’s work strictly for their personal benefit; ranging from copying homework to downloading a pre-written History essay. But that’s not all it means. There are several different ways you could cheat.
I believe cheating is getting worse. But then again, hasn’t it always been a problem? There will always be those people who simply will not take the time to do their own work, and that exists in every generation. So I do not think you could say that cheating is getting worseit’s just becoming more common. It’s not looked down upon as it should be.
I attend Fishburne Military School, a private boarding school for boys; grades 7-12. I see people cheat every day; it’s just how things work. I don’t think there’s a way to stop cheating, but we could find a way to discourage the temptation.
Cheating just doesn’t mean homework or assignments. In relationships you can cheat on your spouse or partner. If we are talking about cheating in relationships I think it is getting worse and not just more common. People think its okay to cheat on their significant other. This is beyond me, I can’t see any reason at all to betray someone who loves you so much.
Cheating is not in fact getting worse, it’s becoming more common and seen as not a problem to students and people of society. Cheating is essentially lying, and I know tons of people who refuse to be friends with those who lie, but then cheat on homework or a test. Is it not the same thing? The people of my generation fail to see the consequences of cheating and lying. No matter what we tell them, it will be always easier to do the wrong thing than the right one. If we taught kids what could be the result of them cheating and giving them a reason to want to do the right thing then I believe we could potentially cure it. But then again, we must remember, it is the way of our essential being that we are inconsiderate of others and self-serving.
