My younger brother was born nine years after me and eight years after my other brother. Growing up, the Easter Bunny continued to bring us baskets each year, mostly because she didn’t want the youngest child to stop believing. As we grew, we wanted less and less to do with stuffed rabbits, so our baskets matured with us. If you are wondering what to fill your teenager’s basket with, here are some tips:
For Him or Her:
Summer Basket: It was a tradition for my grandmother to get me a bathing suit every year for Easter. This is a great gift, because summer is just around the corner. Fill a basket with an adorable bathing suit for her or swim trunks for him. A beach towel, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a really good chapstick are great fillers for the basket.
Movie Basket: Fill their basket with new releases, or a movie that you know they really like. I loved the movie Grease growing up (although it was way before my time…), so I loved when I got the movie on DVD. Movie soundtracks are also great gifts to include in this basket. Movie tickets, or a gift card to a theatre, popcorn, and their favorite soda all go with the theme.
Spa Basket: Giving your teenage daughter a basket full of stuff she will love can be simple. Fill the basket with a nice perfume, or a variety of body sprays, and nail polishes. Facial scrubs, cleansers, beauty masks, and a sleeping mask are all great for this type of basket.
Hair Care Basket: If your daughter spends hours doing her hair, then a hair care basket is perfect. Fill the basket with nice shampoos and conditioners, hair smoothers, headbands, and hair creams. If you want to really impress her- a new blow dryer, straightening iron or curling iron will make this basket the best she’s ever got.
Gamer Basket: If your son loves video games, a new game is the perfect gift for his basket. Whether he likes x-box, play station, or any handheld game systems there are many games available. A renewed subscription to an x-box live membership is also a great gift or a new set of headphones. You can also purchase a book of cheats for his favorite game.
Fresh & Clean Basket: Your son might care about his appearance or, he might need a little incentive to care about it. Either way, a basket full of great smelling (and manly) body washes, cologne, and sprays are a great basket concept for your son. New hair gel, combs and an electric shaver are also great additions.
Your teenager does not have to be left out of Easter fun! There are many great ideas for baskets to fit any teenager’s personality. But, no matter what type of basket your teenager will be getting this year make sure you fill it with lots of candy!
