Labor Day weekend is just around the corner and you want to throw the best pool party in town. It will be hot, so the people that you already know wont need much convincing to make an appearance. This year you want to meet new people, though. How do you let the others in town know about it, such as acquaintances, co-workers, or your friends’ friends?
Advertise on Facebook and other social networking sites
This is probably one of the best ways to get people to come to a social gathering, because you can pick and choose between the people that see your posts. Put up pictures of your swimming pool with lawn chairs and picnic tables around it. Give people brief details about who else is going to be at the event and let them know they can bring their friends if they would like. Tell them they can bring food dishes and drinks, too.
Word of mouth
Tell all of your friends to spread the news to other friends and/or relatives. Let them know if there is a certain age group you would like to entertain or if you have activities for the kids. A lot of people still believe word of mouth is still best marketing strategy for anything!
Post it on the bulletin board at work
Let your co-workers know of the event and post it in your office or work area. Be sure and write down your phone number and address.
Make sure to be polite and out- going and it will really grab people’s attention if you get a little creative with stuff. Print out some some cool looking advertisements and hang them up on bulletin boards in your local grocery stores. If you feel like it would be appropriate, you could even have a $5 entry fee. Depending on who all you would like to come to the party, you could even advertise it in different colors on the back glass of your car the week before Labor Day!
