Most of us are trying to save money in every way that we can. We have cut back as much as we think we can and still find that we need to make more cuts. There are ways that you can save money on your cell phone services.
When I first got a cell phone I was paying over 120 dollars per month for my services. I decided the value was not there for the dollars I was spending and shut the phone off as soon as the contract was up. I then began asking my friends about their cell phone bills and found that for the most part, I was getting off easy. Many of my friends were paying up to 200 dollars per month on just cell phone services. I knew there had to be a better way. I had to have a phone, if something happened I needed to be able to contact the right people. I needed it for security.
I decided to do some research and began comparing the different prepaid cell phone services and the types of phones they offered. I found that I can get the same service I was paying 120 a month for, for a lot less money. I found some companies offered unlimited data, talk, and text for about 45 dollars a month. I work online all day so I have no need to have data on my phone. Take that away and it lowered my bill to 35 dollars per month. I also don’t need unlimited talk. I rarely use my phone. I am kind of an introvert and if I have something to say to you I will text you. So I found one company that offered unlimited texting and 500 talk minutes for 20 dollars a month. Then I decided to look at the different types of phones they had. Now I don’t need anything special and ended up buying a cheap 10 dollar flip phone but for those out there who rely on their phones a lot more than I do, these companies have all the same types of phones as the major phone companies.
When I was deciding on buying a prepaid cell phone, the sales lady informed me that the company I was planning on going with did not have any towers of their own. She told me that this company used all the other companies’ towers to get a signal which meant no matter where I went I would be able to use my phone! More than happy with what I had found I bought the phone. I now save over 100 dollars per month on my cell phone service and have better service than I had ever had with the much larger companies.
When you are trying to save money it is important to look at all of your options. If you can save 100 dollars each month on just one cell phone, what other small changes can you make in order to save yourself even more money?
