Once the old grout is removed gently use the same tools to pop the old tile out. Use tile adhesive and a pieces of tile left over from installation to replace all damaged tiles.
The next step is to prepare a batch of new grout. Use a pail or a five gallon bucket. Pour in the grout mixture, add the water and stir until there are no lumps or bumps. Use a trowel to apply the new grout over top of the old grout. Where tiles were replace all new grout is needed. Simply apply more in these areas. Wipe excess grout off of the tile before it dries using a damp cloth.
Allow the grout to dry for a couple of hours before doing anything else. Once it’s had time to set and dry go back into the bathroom and take a look. Once the final coat of sealer has been applied go over the tile itself with a damp cloth to remove any excess sealer. Let everything set and dry for 12 hours, or overnight then put the curtains back up and bring all of your stuff back into the bathroom. You’ll be amazed how fresh and new your bathroom looks.
