You can also post positive notes around your house. I like to use post it notes, and write down positive affirmations on them. I stick them all around the house. I put a few on the mirror in my bedroom, some in the bathroom, and in my office. I put these around my house so that if a negative thought starts to creep in I can simply look up at these notes and be reminded of what I am working toward.
If you find that you are beginning to have negative thoughts, try to find a funny movie, video, or picture to look at. You can also listen to your favorite song. Sing! Do something that brings you joy. Spend some time with a family pet. Writing in a journal will also help you to overcome negative thoughts. When you fell the negative thoughts coming on, take out your journal, write down what you are feeling, but also write down how you should be feeling. For example, you may right I feel like no one loves me but I know that everyone loves me and I am a lovable person.
