Years of camping with friends and family have taught me some very important lessons, especially when it comes to being organized and making sure that you have not forgotten anything on your list. One group of items that is very hard to organize are the bathroom supplies. Someone is always looking for a toothbrush, the toothpaste, or that missing washcloth. Then of course there is the food, and all of the other little items that we sometimes forget. So below are some simple solutions to keep things neat, and organized.
If you visit your local dollar store you will be able to find several plastic containers, that are small and easy to carry. These plastic carry containers are perfect for keeping the toothbrush, toothpaste and all those other items. Be sure to put a name on each of the boxes so that you know which one belongs to who. Then when you are at the campground it will be easy to find and hand out.
Collapsible laundry bins
Laundry bins are a must have when camping, especially if you have young children. These collapsible laundry bins can also be purchased at your local dollar store. I have found it much easier if everyone has their own laundry bin. This way kids can learn to keep their items neat and organized even when they are away from home. When kids are very young you may want to combine their laundry to just one bin. Just make sure to leave room in the car for the full laundry bins when you return back home.
Organize the cooler
Whenever you plan to go camping, packing the cooler with food is a must. I have found it to be easier to pack the food according to what day you are going to be eating the items. For example put the items you will be eating on day one on top and the last day on the bottom. Just make sure you leave enough room for the ice and ice packs.
Give everyone a job
Another great organization tip is to give everyone in the family a job at the campsite. Of course the kids are just going to want to run around and play, but if everyone pitches in all in the family can enjoy themselves. The kids an be responsible fore laying out their sleeping gear. This way you can focus on setting up other items.
