Everyone faces a broken heart at some point in their lives. It is how we deal with the broken heart that matters. You see, it does not matter why your heart is broken or who broke it. If you let it change who you are is what matters the most.
You need to allow yourself to experience your emotions. We have emotions for a reason, it is our body’s way of releasing all of the built up tension. It also helps you to let go of whatever has happened to you. So if you feel like crying, allow yourself to cry. If you feel like being angry, you can be angry. What you have to do while you are experiencing the emotions is to work through them and not let them over take you. Have you ever cried because of a break up? I mean cried so hard maybe you fell asleep crying? How did you feel the next day? You felt relief. Allowing yourself to feel your emotions helped you to release the pain.
Remember that you need to forgive the person for whatever they have done. This may not sound easy and it may not sound like something you want to do, but forgiveness is actually a very selfish act. When you forgive someone you release yourself from whatever they did to you. You say yes what they did was bad but I will no longer allow myself to focus on it. I will not allow what they have done to change who I am.
Laughing will help you to heal. You need to find things in your life that make you laugh. Look up funny videos online or go to a funny movie with your friends. Laughter will heal a heart faster than anything else. It will help you to forget the pain even if only for a short time. You will begin to realize that if you can forget the pain for such a short time maybe you can forget it for longer periods of time.
Fill the void that has been left by filling your life full of things you enjoy. This does not mean to rush into a relationship, or do things that are dangerous to you or others. This means that you find things that you enjoy in life and fill your life with them. If you like to read, go get some new books. It doesn’t matter what you love to do what matters is that you fill your time with it.
Learn to love again. When your heart has been broken it may feel like you will never find love again. You may even feel like you never want to find love again but you must tell yourself that it will happen. You will find someone that you want to be with and you must allow yourself to love again. You may get hurt and things may not work but if you don’t allow yourself to love after having a broken heart than your heart will never truly heal.
