How to Get a Pentakill in League of Legends

by yak max

League of Legends is a multiplayer battle arena online video game for the computer. I’ve been playing this game for many years now and have luckily gotten a few pentakills. Here’s how to get a pentakill.

What is a pentakill?
First off, let me explain what a pentakill is. A pentakill is when you kill 5 of the enemy players, known as champions in this game, in a row. All the kills have to happen right after another one. This means if you kill 4 champions first but don’t kill the last champion until a minute later that doesn’t count as a pentakill. The order of the kills go kill, doublekill, triplekill, quadrakill, and pentakill. It’s not that easy to get a pentakill because it has to be done in a short amount of time. I’ve managed to get a couple so far but it actually took me a couple years before I got my first one.

What’s the easiest way to get a pentakill?
Since I’ve been playing League of Legends for many years and know most of the champions inside and out I’ve discovered that some champions are easier to get pentakills than others. The fastest and easiest champions to use to get a pentakill are the attack damage carries, or ADC. This includes the champions Ezreal, Vayne, Varus, Kog’Maw, Caitlyn, and Miss Fortune. My first pentakill that I ever got was when I played Kog’Maw on the Howling Abyss map. I built him with attack speed as well as attack damage. This combined with his Bio-Arcane Barrage helped kill all of the enemy champions fast and easy. Because most ADC champions produce a large amount of damage when being combined with attack speed it’s the logical choice to play these champions if you want to get a pentakill.

Can other champions easily get a pentakill?
Yes, other champions can easily get a pentakill besides just ADC champions. I’ve found out that burst champions, champions that can produce a very high amount of damage in one or two attacks, are great for getting pentakills as well. In particular Annie, Veigar, and Brand are great burst champions but they take more skill if you want to get a pentakill with them. These champions have great combos. It’s important to do a combo in a certain order to maximize the amount of damage. For an example, I got a pentakill on Annie once when I timed her stun with her ultimate. Her ultimate releases Tibbers which is her bear that does a lot of damage. If you time her stun with Tibbers this helps Annie get off more attacks towards the enemy champions. The more attacks you can get off, the more damage you can do. This is why Viegar and Brand are also great champions to use to get a pentakill as they both have stuns as well as ultimates that produce a high amount of damage.

Other tips and tricks to get a pentakill.
Besides using specific champions it’s also important to have a nice build. If you have builds that have items that do a lot of damage then you will have an easier time getting multiple kills. Having only items that have damage and no defense is risky though. If you have a support, someone on your team that helps heal and protect you, then it’s safer. If you don’t have a support it can be nearly impossible for you to stay alive while you are trying to get a pentakill. League of Legends is after all a team game so if you really want to get a pentakill talk to your teammates about it so that they can possibly help you get one. The last tip I can offer to someone trying to get a pentakill is to not give up. During team fights just get in there and keep attacking. If you have a good support they should be able to keep you alive throughout the fight. Don’t back out of the fight or you won’t get the pentakill. Just keep going.
