Farming is pretty much a fact of life in modern online video games. If you don’t farm items, you miss out on time limited exclusives and never see a lot of game content. The Facebook game Marvel: Avengers Alliance is no different in this respect. In fact, the game has lots of items to farm and constantly releases time limited exclusives. While you can’t meaningfully avoid farming, you can do it in the most efficient way possible. The following strategy guide will teach you everything you need to know about how to farm efficiently in Marvel: Avengers Alliance.
Silver – The nice thing about farming silver is that you don’t need to spend any energy. The bad thing about it is that it is the most time intensive of anything you can farm in Marvel: Avengers Alliance. To farm silver efficiently, you need a full flight deck and preferably heroes that are maximum level. Send them all on a 10 minute mission. Set a 10 minute timer and do something else. When the timer goes off, return to the flight deck and hit the collect and resend button. Repeat this process to get silver quickly.
Hero Experience – Farming for hero experience is identical to farming for silver, except you use low level heroes instead of high level heroes. Also, when a hero hits the maximum experience for a given level, you need to train that hero, which means you have to manually refill all the flight deck. Thankfully, just like with silver, you can do this while paying attention to other tasks.
Agent Experience – You can’t send your agent on flight deck missions, so you need to complete battles to gain experience on your agent. The best missions to get experience quickly are the missions in chapter 12 of season 1. You can fight a boss battle by spending only 10 points of energy. If you want to keep the mission easy, abort the mission after the battle rather than ending the mission. If you want to maximize experience, which will make the battle longer, get five stars on it.
Command Points – The same missions that earn you agent experience will also earn you lots of command points. Each boss battle will give you a boss roulette that can potentially give you 1, 3 or 5 command points. Mission 2 in this chapter also has an epic boss, which is even better for farming command points, but you will need to own Kitty Pryde to take advantage of this.
Special Drops – Some covert operations and special operations have unique items that drop during battles. These items are more likely to drop during boss battles than any other type of battle. Choose a mission that you enjoy and fight to the boss without defeating any mini-bosses. Start the boss battle and use heroes that score a lot of critical hits. Fight until the item drops or until you risk killing all the enemies. You should avoid including anyone in your party that counterattacks or resists damage. The reason is that once you have the item or there are few enemies left, you will do nothing but recharge and let the enemies kill your team. Repeat to farm this special drop.
Agent Gear – Agent gear has a chance of dropping when you win some boss battles and epic boss battles. If you are hunting a specific piece of gear, go to the mission and complete it spending the least energy possible. This means sending heroes on all deploys and always fighting the hardest battle possible. If the item drops after defeating the boss, you are done. If it doesn’t, abort the mission, rather than end it, in order to keep the mission easy. This trick doesn’t work on premium missions, and there is no way to conserve energy against epic bosses, but you can abort the mission to keep it easy.
Gold – Gold is the hardest resource in the game to farm. There is a limited amount of gold that can be farmed and it requires that you either four-star a mission or complete tasks in season 2. To four-star a mission efficiently, simply send heroes on all deploys and always fight the hardest battle available. The only tasks worth gold that can be quickly completed in season 2 of Marvel: Avengers Alliance are the heroic battles and incursions. The other major tasks are a serious time sink.
