Prom is just around the corner, and I know you are looking for some creative ways to do your makeup. The key to prom makeup is to keep it simple, but also eye catching. Because you may not be a professional makeup artist, you will want to try a look that is easy for you. I think I can help you with that.
If you’re dress is light pink, you will want to bring the color out by wearing makeup that collaborates well with a soft pink, but not compete with it. For example, lavender lipstick is quite bold, yet it looks amazing with pink clothing. You can always try whatever look you want. This article is simply to give you a few ideas.
We are going to try wearing a glossy pink lip with white and gray eye makeup.
- 1. Apply a white (preferably shimmery) eye shadow on your eye lids. Using an angled eye shadow brush can help with precision. Although this look is simple, there is still some technique involved in keeping the white color applied heavily on the lid. After applying the white eye shadow, blend a little more up to the crease and brow bone, but keep it sheer. This sheer color will be a base for the gray eye shadow.
- 2. Now take a gray eye shadow and blend it into the crease and brow bone without getting it mixed with the white on the lids. The purpose of adding white as a base is to keep the gray from being extremely dark and over-dramatic. The white eye shadow makes the gray eye shadow lighter and a bit shimmery-er.
- 3. Next add a highlighting eye shadow on the remainder of the eye (beneath the brows). Choose a color that is nearly nude, which is a color that is almost the same color of your skin.
- 4. Your lips are going to match your gorgeous dress! Go glossy pink on your lips. Make sure the color is bold, visible, but luscious. But don’t stop there. Add light pink blush on your cheeks as well, but nothing too bold. Your cheek color is not to compete with your lips. Let the cheeks have some sheer color while the lips are much bolder.
With this look, you will look absolutely beautiful on your fairy tale night! Have fun!
