With the right empowered ISOs equipped, Deadpool is one of the most difficult characters to defeat in PvP in Marvel: Avengers Alliance. He is similar to Wolverine, but tends to deal even higher damage and applies much more devastating negative status effects. Use the wrong strategy against him and you will find yourself banging your head against a brick wall. If, like many players in the game, you are losing to him more often than you are winning, the following strategy guide will teach you how to defeat Deadpool in PvP in Marvel: Avengers Alliance.
Empowered ISOs – Base Deadpool is not that dangerous. He becomes brutal when equipped with certain ISOs. Hover your mouse over him when the battle starts. If you see the “Come at Me, Bob” special ability, he is extra dangerous. This means he will protect allies with increasing likelihood as his health goes down and will counterattack with increasing likelihood the higher his health. He may also have an ISO that automatically resurrects him at half health when reduced to 0 health.
Combo – Deadpool has a four round combo that is devastating. He uses each of his attack powers in order and on the fourth round when he uses Happy to See You, it deals enough damage to defeat basically any enemy it targets. You need to be very careful not to speed up this combo. If you attack him before he first attacks in a battle, he will counterattack and that will speed this up by a round. Additionally, if at all possible, you want to break the chain. You can’t remove the buffs these attacks give him, but you can break the chain by stunning him after he starts to add buffs. Even better, if you are able, you can depower him. Only three heroes in the game can do that so far and two are infiltrators, so this is a rather risky option, unless you are using Captain Steve Rogers on your team.
Healing – Between counterattacks and healing, Deadpool is particularly rough to fight. You can limit both if you focus your attacks on him. But this means you need to make sure that is possible. The moment you start splitting your damage in any way, you are giving him the advantage, so watch out for bodyguards and make sure that you’ve applied any necessary debuffs to other enemies before you start going at him full force. Also, keep in mind that attacks that hit multiple times give Deadpool more healing than those that just hit once. You need to balance between using high damage attacks on him and attacks with fewer hits. If possible, apply despair, it makes any fight against him a lot easier.
Debuffs – For the most part, debuffs don’t work on Deadpool. He can shake off bleeding, will heal part of other ongoing damage, and will remove all debuffs on him with No Holds Barred, which is the third attack in the chain. The best attacks against Deadpool are simply those that deal high damage quickly. Ignore status effects and simply deal damage.
