Many of us find ourselves facing a problem of low self-confidence. We know that it can affect every aspect of our lives and we want to make a change. The problem is that we have no idea what we can do to change the way we feel about ourselves. Low self-confidence usually stems from our childhood. We may have been told many different things about ourselves as children over and over again. We begin to believe what we have been told and as adults we find that we don’t know how to change those beliefs. There are things you can do if you want to build your self-confidence though. They may seem like very simple things and you may not believe that they will work but if you really take the time to do the things I am going to tell you about, you will find your self-confidence grows each and every day.
One way that we can boost our self-confidence is to listen to what is called positive affirmations. You can find these online and listen to them every day. You can listen to them while you are working, doing chores around your house, or when you get ready to go to bed at night. You can even listen to them while you sleep. You see, it doesn’t matter if you are awake, or asleep, focused or doing something else, your mind will hear what is being said. Positive affirmations work in the subconscious to change the way we think and feel. If you were taught to feel bad about yourself all of your life, you will learn how to think highly of yourself through positive affirmations.
If you want to boost your self-confidence, you need to get rid of the people in your life who make you feel bad about yourself. I used to have this so called friend, I lived next door to her and spent a lot of time with her. I found that after I spent time with her I felt really bad about myself. I would look in the mirror and point out all of my flaws. I felt that I would never be successful. She made me feel like I was worthless and it was simply to boost her own self esteem. Once I cut this person out of my life I found that I felt much better about myself. I could look in the mirror and tell myself that I was beautiful, I knew I could do anything I wanted.
You should also make a list of all of the things you love about yourself. You will be able to look at this list when you are feeling bad about who you are. This list can be full of anything that you truly love about you. From you are a hard worker to you are friendly or have a great sense of humor. It can be simple things like, “I am great at cleaning.” Having this list with you at all times will help you to feel better about yourself.
Boosting self-confidence does take time but it is definitely time well spent. When you boost your self-confidence, your possibilities are endless. You will find that you make friends more easily and you are more successful in everything that you do. You will be more creative and just enjoy life more.
