I remember watching a show on the television years ago where two woman traded families for a period of time. I don’t remember the specifics but what I do remember was that one of the women was really into positive thinking. She was constantly saying how positive thinking could change your life. I looked at the difference in the two families and thought yeah if I lived in a million dollar house I would have no problem with positive thinking either. Then I got a bit more serious and began looking in to it.
You see, what I learned was that the power of positive thinking really can change your life. What we think is what we become. The things we focus on are the things that come to past. So what are you focusing on? How can you use the power of positive thinking to change your life?
When you decide to use positive thinking in your life you will quickly learn that good thoughts bring good events. You will also learn that negative thoughts bring only negative events. Let’s look at it like this. Say you go into an interview, you do fine during the interview but then find out thirty other people have applied for the same job. Your self-confidence plummets and you begin to think that you will not get the job. You start to think about all the more qualified people who have applied and basically deciding your own future determine you will not be hired. Guess what? You don’t get hired. Now if you had went to the same interview and told yourself that you were the one that would get hired. You claimed the job as yours saying to yourself this is my job. Guess what would have changed? You would have easily gotten the job.
When we think positively we send out positive vibes attracting positive results, and the same applies when we think negatively. Now it is understood that no one is going to be able to think positively all of the time, but you have to work on catching yourself. When those negative thoughts start to creep in we have to stop them as soon as we recognize them. We have to tell ourselves that we will not be the victim of negative thinking and then we need to change our thinking.
Sit down and write down positive statements. Things like I live in the perfect house, my children behave perfectly, I am the perfect weight, and I have the perfect relationship. Read these statements over and over. Doing so will reprogram your mind to think on the positive and not focus on the negative. Block out time each and every day to read your positive statements and focus on them. Close your eyes and in vision what each of them would entail.
If you really want to use positive thinking to create a better life for yourself use the tips given to you above. Above all make sure you catch those negative thoughts when they try to creep up in your mind.
