There are different ways to get the best rates for Auto Insurance and getting the best rate is something everybody would like to do. Each state has a law requirement that should be met each year for citizens to be able to lawfully operate their vehicles on the streets. In the state of Georgia, where I live, drivers need to maintain continuous auto insurance coverage and comply with the law by maintaining at least $25,000 body injury liability coverage per person and $50,000 per accident, as well as $25,000 in property damage. To ensure I comply with Georgia’s insurance law requirements, here are three ways by which I received the best rate on my auto insurance.
1. Compare Car Insurance Quotes
First, I called insurance companies that interested me and got their respective quotes. Then I compared the quotes. Since I was unable to get an agent, I logged online and put in my information to receive quotes because they are available online any time of the day.
Before I made a final decision and purchased the new policy I did some research online to find as much information as possible on the company I was thinking of going with. Also, I did my home work by doing a research with the Better Business Bureau to see if the company had any complaints on not paying for accidents.
2. Study on Car Insurance
In order to fully study the insurance concept, I had to really know and understand what I was up against. Studying car insurance and insurance companies helped me to maintain a good understanding of the insurance cover, how much I could save and what type of payment I would owe each month.
3. Know how much deductible/liability is needed
Knowing about car insurance helped me understand how much deductible I need as far as coverage is concerned. When an individual doesn’t know what type of coverage they need, sometimes they are paying extra money which they don’t need to pay. I learned to know how much deductible I need, how to increase the amount of money I pay if I have an accident, as well as how much liability I need to comply with the law.
It is my recommendation that females do as I did, that is learn about car insurance, because I learned that we pay more than any male since we know no better. This way you will always know whether your policy needs to be changed, as well as how and when to review your current policy. If you don’t know how to determine when auto liability changes might require your attention, to revise coverage limits or to add new coverage, then you might be paying too much.
