Writing for a content mill is a great way to make money from working at home. Many people really don’t understand how writing for a content mill really works. I had tried to work for a content mill years ago, I made it more complicated than it should have been and gave up. A few months ago I decided to give it a shot again and am happy to say it has been a success.
When you write for a content mill, you get to choose the subject you write about. I like writing for a content mill more than personal clients for this reason. Clients want you to write about what they want you to write about. They don’t care if you find the subject interesting or if you have any knowledge about the subject. When you write for a content mill you get to decide what you write about. It is a great way to share the knowledge you have and to create more knowledge. If you are in the mood to write about finances that is what you write about, if you are in the mood to write about how to mow your grass that is what you write about.
Content mills usually want shorter articles than we are used to writing. This is where I made my mistake years ago, I wanted to write these really long articles thinking that I would earn more money from them. When in reality the long articles were barely making any money at all. I was spending over an hour writing an article and barely making any money. You have to look at the guidelines given by whichever mill you decide to work for but chances are they want something that is around 500-600 words. It really doesn’t take that much time to write an article that length.
After you write an article you will submit it to whichever website you choose to work for. Make sure you follow their submission guidelines if you want to make any kind of income from writing from them. Some websites will make you an offer for the article, some pay per word, and others allow clients to read the article so they can decide if they want to buy it or not. No matter which website you choose to work for, one of these steps will take place after you submit your article.
You will decide if you want to accept or reject the offer. Many of these sites pay between 2-15 dollars per article submitted if they are accepted. If your article is rejected, then you may be allowed to edit it and resubmit it. If your article is accepted and you accept the offer, your article will be published online. Sometimes it is published under your name and sometimes it is published under the person’s name who bought the article. It all depends on the content mill that you are writing for. After your article is published, you start the entire cycle over again with a new article.
