I try very hard to keep my family healthy, but every one does get sick sometime. It is also hard with young children, & giving them medicine you don’t really trust. I have a homemade cough syrup that works great. Although that taste could be better, it does the trick. You just give 1 tsp for a child & 2 tsp for an adult. You can also add it into a cup of tea. You may give it as needed. I recommend in the morning & definitely before bed. So they will sleep easier.
All you need is three ingredients. Local honey (store organic will work), lemon juice, & cayenne pepper. You will also need a large mason jar or something similar.
Honey: I buy the local honey because it will help build your child’s immune system. If your child suffers from allergies can also just give them a teaspoon of local honey a day.
Lemon Juice: I fresh squeeze the lemons. You may also buy the lemon juice in the produce section of your local grocery store.
1. Add 1 cup of lemon juice & 1/2 teaspoon into your jar. Stir the two together.
2. Add 2 cups of honey into jar. I add honey last so it will mix easier.
3. Put a year expiration date on it.
It is very easy & works well. You’re also not putting any chemicals into your family’s body.
