What would you say if I told you that one of the most deadly viruses known to man, something that leads to one of the greatest diseases to have ever faced the human race, something that could wipe out the entire population if it were to be set loose wide enough, was actually a good thing? (hellomynameisblog) Hard to believe right? How could something so horrible, something so violent and deadly, how on Earth could this be a positive thing, how in the world am I going to spin this into a good story that has long lasting benefits for the human race? (wikihow) I’ll admit right up front that HIV in it’s own right is certainly not a good thing, it’s still every bit as deadly for any human walking this Earth not named Magic Johnson as it ever was, so I wouldn’t recommend going out and getting it to see why it’s so great. (huffingtonpost) A deadly virus is a deadly virus, just as a snake is always a snake, while you may be able to find some sort of positive in it’s existence, it’s still something bad and will ultimately bite you in the end if you’re not careful. (renewamerica)
The Human Immunodeficiency Virus is certainly one of the most disturbing, violent, nasty illnesses out there, if you were to get it you’re more likely than not to wind up as another victim of it’s deadly clutches. (cdc) With all of the bad involved in the illness, it’s hard to imagine that it could be used for something good, something positive, something that could change humanity for the better. (iflscience) Scientists have been able to modify HIV in a way that allows it to change the human genome in a way that will help people currently living with a multitude of diseases, including HIV itself, live longer. (reddit) This new step is amazing, it’s a massive move forward through technology and alternative medicine, if all goes well people could be looking at a chance to at least partially eliminate one of the must violent diseases that man has ever seen or known. (kevinmd) Let’s hope the anti-vaccine crowd stay away from this, they’ve caused enough problems, as a result lets not hear from them on this subject, although I’m sure if you dig deep enough that you’ll possibly find some rather unsavory skeletons in their closets, but hey, I could be wrong, right?
