Well we have just a little more than two and a half years left before we elect the next President of the United States, and even though Hillary Clinton hasn’t said whether she will run or not, the Republicans are already in panic mode. To my recollection, this is the first time a possible Democratic candidate has ever come under attack just for thinking about running. And this is not just any ordinary attack; Hillary is under siege. All this tells me is that the GOP is terrified at the thought of Hillary making it official because then they will have to scramble to find a candidate worthy of running against her.
The recent remarks coming out of former Deputy Chief Of Staff Karl Rove’s mouth is proof that the Republican Party is reaching into their bag of tricks to try and discredit Mrs. Clinton every chance they get. Now while the GOP was quick to say that they don’t condone what Mr. Rove said, it’s not hard to imagine the behind the door whispers taking place. Rove said that Hillary is suffering from possible brain damage after the concussion she had when she fainted due to a stomach virus in November 2012, and the blood clot scare in January 2013. In both instances, her doctors said she had made a full recovery, but because she was unable to appear at the hearings of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and the House Foreign Affairs Committee, to be grilled on the Benghazi incident, she was dubbed as having the Benghazi flu by the Republicans. There was even talk that she was faking both medical issues which is just not true.
Karl Rove made the remarks that Hillary was too old and too sick to be President which had all the tones of a male chauvinistic attitude. This is another reason why the country is up in arms over a woman’s right to be known as equal when perusing a man’s job. Mrs. Clinton, if elected, would be 68 years old, and if she served two terms, she would be 76 when she left the White House. By contrast, Ronald Reagan was 78 when he finished his term, and as males, we have to admit that an older woman is a smarter woman. With the Republicans slinging mud this early, you would have to believe that they are running around yelling “the sky is falling, the sky is falling”. Seems to me playing politics is alive and kicking.
