With summer just around the corner, many people are looking for those special tricks, things that are going to get them summer ready. Women want to look great in their summer dresses and bathing suits. But the fact of the matter is, you don’t always have to search for fancy options or expensive things, in order to get great results. There’s no need to try and crack the code to discover major secrets to looking good and being fit. So I want to just re-visit the basics. Not to say that we don’t already know these things, however if you’re like me, it’s just nice to hear them.
First things first.
It can’t be stressed enough. Water is, by far, our greatest source of healthiness. It is nature’s thirst quencher. Now, I know that a lot of people don’t like to drink water. At least not alone. Some people want to have flavor in the water. Some people will add fruits to their water or something to take away the ‘water’ taste. But, no matter how you drink it, it is important to just drink it. I love sodas and many people do as well. But, those of us that don’t, has got to make a better effort in drinking water. I guarantee you, our bodies will thank us for it later. Especially during the hot days of Summer!
FRUITS AND VEGETABLES
Here’s another thing that I can’t stress enough. We all need these natural nutrients, so that our bodies will respond the way that we need them to. And during this time of year, those refreshing flavors and vitamins, can help us stay fit and keep us that way. I know that it’s easier said than done, but it’s not impossible. Enjoying food is one of the best pleasures of life and our bodies agree. So, why not treat our bodies, so that they can continue to treat us?
Yoga, Pilates, Kick-Boxing, MMA. Whatever style of exercise that you choose, that is by far one of the greatest assets to healthy living. Especially if you have made some great adjustments and have adopted better eating habits. Exercising can bring great energy to your day and to your life. But, make sure of course, that you check with your physician before trying a new exercising style. And make sure that during the hot summer, you stay hydrated at all times and take two minute intervals throughout your workout. Giving yourself time to catch your breath, drink some water and to decrease your chances of getting overheated!
COOKING AT HOME
I know that it’s hard in today’s world. Everybody’s busy and their schedules are complicated. But, it is definitely better to cook your meals at home, that way you’ll know what’s in them. Some places add too much salt and others add too much sugar. Then, some places uses oils like Peanut oil and many people are severely allergic to Peanuts. As well as Seafood and many other things. Now, don’t get me wrong. I am not against restaurants or anything. I love a great restaurant as much as the next person. But, I love to cook my food at home. I know what Mom and I love to eat and how we love to eat it. So the more you can make at home, the better it will be for your family. Having your family in the kitchen, as we all know can be one of the most beneficial things that you can do in your life and home.
(An Extra Tip for Summer!)
