Carlos Santana is a Mexican and American musician who first became famous in the late 1960s and early 1970s with his band, Santana, which pioneered a fusion of rock and Latin American music. The band’s sound featured his melodic, blues-based guitar lines set against Latin and African rhythms featuring percussion instruments such as timbales and congas not generally heard in rock music. Santana continued to work in these forms over the following decades.
Karina Eugenia and I had the pleasure of attending HBO Latinos Premiere of “Santana: De Corazon” I had a Q&A with the legend Carlos Santana and interviewed other celebrities who were in attendance at this event:
Mr. Santana besides music do you have another passion?
I like reading this book “A Course in Miracles” it’s a book that talks clearly about the language of your own light. I love African music, son, cha cha cha, mambo, tango, romantic music, cumbia and many others. I like to hear Billy Holiday’s music, Aretha Franklin, Michael Jackson, Bob Marley, Marvin Gaye to name a few. I like excellence and I also listen to the music of today in passing. My passion is really to be in touch with everything that makes this planet wonderful.
Do you have any fears? Not anymore, because I learned from this movie this guy was saying if you look at Satin, Lucifer or the Devil in the eye and say to him I have God’s Love what do you have?
What inspires you to create your music?
Innocence inspires me, what’s pure, baby’s eyes when they are born, women’s voices, men and women who are musician’s flamenco, Picasso, I like art. I love women and men with serious vision. It’s important that HBO is doing documentaries with people with high visions , intense visions and they said they were going to do it and did it. Why? Because the vision is so tangible so that’s what I love to do and would love be a part in the future people who come to a table and create one channel called Divine Vision and you create a channel to identify a thousand percent with the super powers that you have that you are not using.
I would like to know you are a person of faith and we are experiencing some difficult times what message do you want to send out to the world?
A friend of mine Jay Jay said “May the heavens open up and the angels bless each and every one with the deep awareness of your own light.” When women and men recognize that we are light first no one can stop you.
After this wonderful interview with Mr. Carlos Santana Karina and I stopped at the red carpet and we saw producer Clive Davis, Miss Universe and had the chance to speak to Denise Bidot a very well-known plus model and star of the reality show Curvy Girls who is currently one of the host of the show Mama vs Mama on Yahoo en Español along with the famous Spanish Actor Carlos Ponce who shared with us a new project he has with HBO soon to be released.
