There are seven different colors of ISO-8 in the Facebook game Marvel: Avengers Alliance. Each different color of ISO-8 comes in multiple specific types. Each type grants a hero a bonus to a specific set of stats. Purple ISO always increase two to three stats among attack, accuracy, stamina, and health. The only vaguely defensive stats that a purple ISO-8 can increase is health, so you should generally think of these as good for offensively focused characters. The following guide to purple ISO-8 in Marvel: Avengers Alliance will give you all the information you need to properly equip your heroes with these ISOs.
Reactive Careful ISO-8 (Stamina, Accuracy / 16,100 Silver, 4 SP) – Careful is generally used by tacticians. Increased stamina is important because most tacticians will act twice a round and accuracy is important because tactician powers tend to apply status effects, but only on a hit. This is a very good ISO for characters like Rescue that are designed to apply status effects, but aren’t designed to deal damage.
Reactive Relentless ISO-8 (Stamina, Attack / 17,500 Silver, 4 SP) – Like Careful, Relentless is generally best for tacticians. The difference is that this ISO is best for tacticians that are designed to deal massive amounts of damage. The purpose of Relentless is to allow a hero to spam high damage attacks and replace quantity of attacks with accuracy. Black Panther is a good example of a character that this ISO works very well with, though there are plenty of agent builds that also synergize well with it.
Reactive Focused ISO-8 (Health, Accuracy / 16,800 Silver, 4 SP) – There is almost no hero in the game that needs this particular combo. Highly inaccurate heroes tend to actually have high health, rather than low health. For the rare hero that is deficient in both categories, Focused is a very good option, because these are two weaknesses that almost always need to be shored up to make a hero viable.
Reactive Powerful ISO-8 (Health, Attack / 18,200 Silver, 4 SP) – Powerful is the best friend of many a blaster and scrapper. Blasters tend to have high accuracy to begin with and scrappers can gain true strike from class advantage. This is particularly useful on heroes with both low defense and evasion, such that shoring those stats up is too much of an opportunity cost. Actual glass cannons don’t work very well in Marvel: Avengers Alliance, but heroes with high attack and just enough health to survive a retributive strike are excellent.
Reactive Masterful ISO-8 (Stamina, Attack, Accuracy / 22,800 Silver, 5 SP) – If you have a tactician that is both capable of dealing good damage and has some nasty status effects, Masterful is the perfect compromise between Relentless and Careful. Few enough fall into this category, but Magneto is at least one example of a hero that does and your agent will often fall into this category.
Reactive Steady ISO-8 (Health, Attack, Accuracy / 23,400 Silver, 5 SP) – Steady is actually a slightly weaker version of Powerful that you pretty much only want to use when you have a damage dealing hero that has poor accuracy. Usually accuracy is either too low to fix completely with ISO or high enough that you don’t need to worry about it. In the rare middle ground, equip a hero with half Steady and half Powerful, so as to not too badly dilute the benefits of attack and health.
Reactive Flourishing ISO-8 (Health, Stamina, Accuracy / 20,400 Silver, 5 SP) – If there are any three stats that combined most need to be shored up when they are low, these are the three. You basically never want to fill a hero with Flourishing, but if a hero is actually low in these three attributes, slot between two to four.
Reactive Robust ISO-8 (Health, Stamina, Attack / 21,600 Silver, 5 SP) – You will slot Robust for basically the exact same reason to might slot Steady. When a hero has a particularly low stamina, but you want to use that hero primarily as just offense, slot Robust ISO-8 to handle the stamina deficiency. Just like Steady, you rarely want more than four of these on a hero.
