Full Circle Arts Gallery
The Full Circle Arts Gallery is an artist’s cooperative. All kinds of art forms are accepted here in this not for profit gallery. Local artists are encouraged to participate.
The gallery events include art competitions, individual shows and auctions. Art related classes are sometimes held. It is located just off the square in downtown Hickory.
Hickory Museum of Art
The Hickory Museum of Art, located on Third Avenue NE is a public gallery. In the Galleria Museum Store anyone can purchase art from local artists.
The Museum is free to the public and has group tours. It is in the Arts and Science Center of Catawba Valley in a three story brick building, The floors are easily accessible using an elevator. Their fine works can be seen Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 4pm. On Sundays they are open from 1pm to 4pm.
Tommy Stein is a local area artist that is a painter and photographer. Stein’s Gallery is located on 3rd Ave NE in Hickory. Many of his painting are displayed at Poppies by Design in Blowing Rock and many can be viewed on his website.
Glicee prints are available for purchase by check, money order or all major credit cards unless paying in cash. Glicee prints are modern examples of art made on inkjet printers using the finest archival paper and ink.
Tom Stein is known for his rural mountain scenes and his work is recognized on a national level. Tom is a native to the area and a very talented artist.
A popular downtown Hickory coffee house Tasteful Beans displays art for many local artists. Full Circle Gallery use to have an agreement, that was not renewed, to display their art here.
Besides providing the best espresso drinks in town, Tasteful Beans provides space for local artists to display their talented works. Located around on the main stretch downtown just around the corner of the square in Hickory. I have visited this establishment many times and always find the atmosphere calm and relaxing.
Hickory, NC, has some great places to view the work of many local artists from the Piedmont region of North Carolina. All of these places are providing a real service to local artists and admirers of their art.
