Most of the character specific empowered ISOs in Marvel: Avengers Alliance are found in various missions in season 2. Each chapter has different ISOs available based on the heroes and villains fighting in the heroic battles where they can drop. Some of these battles are easy and drop great E-ISOs while others are hard and drop terrible ones. If you are farming character specific empowered ISOs in season 2 chapter 2 of Marvel: Avengers Alliance, this guide will help you determine which are the best to hunt.
Unbreakable E-ISO, Doctor Doom, Mission 1 (B) – Unbreakable is an excellent empowered ISO. Once equipped, Doctor Doom becomes immune to stun and exhaustion. While the benefits are great, all this really does is save you 80 command points, because you purchase the Relentless E-ISO to make any character immune to stun. Additionally, the battle to acquire this ISO is brutally hard. It is worth it if you don’t have spare ISOs, but if you own even one Relentless, the benefit isn’t high enough.
Overclocked E-ISO, Mr. Fantastic, Mission 1 (D+) – Mr. Fantastic is a terrible character and this E-ISO does not significantly make him better. It turns Bifurcator into an area attack, which is nice, but all it really does is make this heroic battle a lot easier. This is useful if you are trying to farm Unbreakable, but that is about the only major benefit.
Fixating E-ISO, Ms. Marvel, Mission 2 (A+) – This ISO gives Ms. Marvel’s attacks true strike and make them guaranteed to hit. Since Ms. Marvel has terrible accuracy, this is a huge boon. As an added benefit, it only takes half an energy bar to attempt this battle and the battle is surprisingly easy if Ms. Marvel is at least level 9. All around, this is worth the effort.
Analyzing E-ISO, Moonstone, Mission 2 (A-) – Moonstone gains a chance to counter enemies with cower, distracted, disoriented, intimidated, or shell shocked. Combined with her chance to apply these status effects to any attacking enemy, she has a chance to counter any attack. A chance at a chance makes for rather low odds, but that is really the only negative to this ISO. Well, that and the fact that Moonstone is only a mediocre character.
Attentive E-ISO, Hawkeye, Mission 3 (B-) – This heroic battle is one of the more frustrating heroic battles, because it is almost entirely reliant on luck, rather than skill. Technically you can attempt this battle only spending 30 points of energy, but you should expect to spend 10 to 20 more per success. The benefit of this empowered ISO is amazing if you are trying to get perfect strategy on battles. Hawkeye will go first unless some other character in the battle has a similar ability. Great if you intend to use him to farm points, but not worth it otherwise.
Consuming E-ISO, Phoenix, Mission 4 (C-) – The battle against Selene is one of the worst battles in the game. It is unnecessarily hard and not fun in any way. If the benefit of adding soulfire to Psi Blast wasn’t so great, this ISO would rate a solid F. As it is, it is still generally not worth the aggravation.
Adroit E-ISO, Black Widow, Mission 5 (A- or A+ if you have very few heroes) – This particular heroic battle isn’t necessarily hard, but it is always long. Still, Black Widow is the best free hero in the game and Adroit makes her even better by adding disadvantage to Martial Arts Combo. The benefit of allowing her to safely fight in any battle, no matter the enemies, is enormous for players with a small stable of characters and good for experience players.
Irritating E-ISO, Wasp, Mission 5 (A) – The Irritating empowered ISO moves Wasp from being a lower tier hero to slightly above the middle of the pack. With this equipped, she basically counters all attacks made by all enemies. It is a game changer for her and worth dealing with the long heroic battle to earn, especially when the battle has the potential to drop two other excellent ISOs as well.
Flashing E-ISO, Black Panther, Mission 5 (B+) – The weakest of the three ISOs available from this battle, Flashing is still rather good. Black Panther gains new buffs with Vibranium Daggers and Panther Stance. The better one, Fang of the Panther, makes his attacks stealthy and apply hobbled. This is useful when facing infiltrators. If you already have Adroit and Irritating, you might not want to spend additional effort getting this, but it isn’t wasted time if you do.
Tangled E-ISO, Spider-Man, Mission 6 (D+) – This particular heroic battle is particularly difficult unless you have two different alternate costumes, and you require three different heroes to even attempt it. If you happen to have those heroes, Tangled is still a poor reward for your effort. Web Shot gains a chance of applying staggered, distraction, off-balance, or dizzied and Web Slingshot can exploit those status effects. The benefit on Web Shot is too random to be valuable and while extra damage is nice, the variability makes it a lot less useful too.
Lucky E-ISO, Black Cat, Mission 6 (C-) – This is the same awful battle that you need to fight to get Tangled, but Lucky is a little better. When equipped, Black Cat has a chance of gaining an additional action when she uses Stroke of Luck. When that does happen, her damage is incredible. The randomness is all that prevents this from being a must-have character specific empowered ISO.
