With three exceptions, character specific empowered ISOs in Marvel: Avengers Alliance only drop in heroic battles. Some of these ISOs are amazing, while others barely offer any benefit at all. Additionally, heroic battles range greatly in difficulty and energy needed to attempt. If you are trying to determine whether a particular ISO is worth your time, the following guide to empowered ISOs in season 2 chapter 2 of Marvel: Avengers Alliance will help you make that determination.
Enchanted E-ISO, Dr. Strange, Mission 1 (A-) – The only real downside of this EISO is the difficulty of the heroic battle. Even with a good ISO set up, this battle is never a sure thing. Enchanted gives a solid benefit. Bolts of Balthak gain the exploit attrition attribute, which combos well with Vapors of Valtorr. An attempt only costs 30 points of energy, making this worth the effort.
Tylphotic E-ISO, Daredevil, Mission 2 (B+) – The Tylphotic E-ISO grants paragon exploiter to all of Daredevil’s attacks while Radar Sense is active. This benefit is lessened by the fact that one of his attacks already has paragon exploiter and Radar Sense can be removed. In PvE battles, where you can dictate your opponents, it will prove generally useful and the energy cost to attempt this heroic battle is low, so it is worth your time.
Fervent E-ISO, Captain America, Mission 3 (A- or A+ with Captain Steve Rogers) – Basic Captain America already has a counterattack option about half the time, so this conditional benefit is only a minor improvement, but any free counterattack is always good. For Steve Rogers, who has much less consistent counter attacks and can’t ever counter ranged attacks, the ability to counter ranged attacks with Shield Throw is amazing, especially when he applies exhausted to all enemies with it. The heroic battle is moderately difficult, but the energy cost to get to it is low enough that this is worth farming.
Photoconductive E-ISO, Iron Man, Mission 3 (D-) – With this empowered ISO equipped, Iron Man gains a unibeam focus when attacked with energy or electricity. That benefit is impossible to predict and Unibeam is only worth using when you focus on it and nothing else. There is too much chance of this not paying off to be worth the effort of acquiring it. If you happen to get it while hunting for Fervent or Dynamic, you might as well equip it, but it isn’t that great.
Dynamic E-ISO, Thor, Mission 3 (A or A+ for Mighty Thor) – Thor is already a damage powerhouse and the Dynamic ISO just improves on that. When you use Inspire Bravery, all enemies gain static charge, and all of Thor’s other attacks gain the electricity type. Since you will pretty much start every battle with Inspire Bravery, this really ups your damage output. Like with Fervent, this battle is easy enough to farm that you really should and simply hope not to get the Photoconductive E-ISO.
Stalking E-ISO, Wolverine, Mission 4 (A) – If you are hunting for an E-ISO for Wolverine, this is a much better option that the one available in chapter 1. It only takes 20 points of energy to attempt to get it and the benefits are much better. Whenever Wolverine is attack by a melee attack, he applies the unique scent status effect to the attacker. This enemy can no longer be protected from or counter Wolverine’s attacks and is more likely to be hit by Wolverine. This is a must-have ISO.
Savory E-ISO, Deadpool, Mission 4 (B+) – Savory grants two clear benefits and one benefit that is arguably a detriment. Deadpool gains a chance to counter attacks with Sharp Pointy Things, which now applies two stacks of bleeding. The chance to counter is higher when his health is higher. He also gains a chance to protect allies from single target attacks. The chance to protect increases as his health decreases, which makes this a less than ideal ability. The potential to speed up Deadpool’s path towards a fully powered Happy to See You makes this worth getting, but beware the downside.
Inventive E-ISO, Spider-Man, Mission 5 (B+) – Spider-Man gains the Smartest Man in the Room special ability that Hank Pym has. It is a fine benefit, but Spider-Man benefits from it even less than Hank does. The heroic battle is easy and cheap to attempt, so if you enjoy using Spider-Man in battle, this is worth your time.
Statistical E-ISO, Scarlet Witch, Mission 6 (A+) – Statistical E-ISO fixes one of the biggest flaws with Scarlet Witch. It removes the miss chance and failure chance of Chaos Shield. Even better, you can attempt this battle by spending only 20 points of energy and the battle is rather easy. If you own her and her brother, get this empowered ISO.
Accelerating E-ISO, Quicksilver, Mission 6 (A+) – Accelerating is an amazing ISO. When equipped, Quicksilver does not spend quickness stacks to counter attack. This means that unless you spend them all with One Mile Punch, Quicksilver will always counter attacks. This makes an already solid hero even better.
