One of my favorite things that I enjoy is the opportunity to collect and refurbish antiques. I do love to refurbish and refinish antique furniture especially. My wife and I shop at flea markets and yard sales to look for antique furniture in order to flip. We do it because of the joy and satisfaction of restoring old antiques. We do not do it just for the money. This is plainly a hobby that we enjoy together.
There is a place that we travel to often to look for antiques and also for some of the antique trim and hardware that we may need for our projects. Ponchatoula, Louisiana, is a great place to shop for the items we are looking for. You can park downtown in a designated parking area and spend all the time you want browsing through all the antique shops you want. In the next few paragraphs I will share with you some of our favorite places to browse.

There are plenty of places to try out the local taste in food. Hotels and a few bed and breakfast lodges are around for an overnight stay. One of our favorite things to do is stay at Fairview State Park that is located about a thirty minute drive from this beautiful moss and oak tree laden campground located on Madisonville, La. Located on the Tchefuncte River this is a beautiful campground with plenty of sites with all the hookups. We love to stay a few days and enjoy the scenery and take in a lot of antique browsing.
