Fresh fruit juice is healthy and delicious in any season. In the summer there is nothing more refreshing than a fresh squeezed glass of juice or a fruit smoothie enjoyed while out and about soaking in the sun. With Brooklyn becoming ever more trendy and fashionable, it’s no surprise that there are a multitude of great juice bars available for residents to choose from. Below are some of the more popular places to grab a glass.
Summers – This Williamsburg juice bar has friendly service, fresh juice, a tasty menu, and free Wi-Fi to round out their list of virtues. Their fresh juice starts at $5 for a small, with shots of juice for $4. They also have smoothies and various food items, including salads, oats with berries, yogurt and fruit, and a very popular egg sandwich. It can be found at 155 S. 4th Street, between Bedford and Driggs.
Shanti Shack – Williamsburg has no shortage of interesting places to eat, so it’s no surprise that a second juice bar in that neighborhood has made its way onto this list. Shanti Shack, a two story little juice bar which is closed on Monday, offers salads, sandwiches, and a daily food special in addition to its rotating menu of fresh juices and shakes. A little pricier than its Williamsburg neighbor, most of the juices and shakes run around $8-$9, though a few cheaper options exist as well. With friendly service and expert cleanses offered, the prices may well be worth it. Shanti Shack is located at 85 North 3rd Street, a few blocks from the Bedford Avenue L Train.
3-Roots – Greenpoint residents can stop by 3-Roots for lunch and a freshly squeezed juice. Though slightly pricier than some of the other juice bars on this list, the options include shots starting at $2 and full glasses starting at $6. The food menu is small but filled with healthy options, with soups and salads dominating. It is located at 159 Franklin St.
Juice Pedaler – Windsor Terrace is great anyway, but this charming Brooklyn neighborhood is made even better by the addition of this combo juice bar and bicycle shop. Making this little shop even more convenient, they will even deliver. Most of their juices are in the $6-8 range and they offer a full coffee selection as well, in addition to some pastries. Juice Pedaler can be found at 154 Prospect Park Southwest.
Stoop Juice – It is no surprise that Park Slope, one of the trendiest Brooklyn neighborhoods, has its own juice bar. Stoop Juice is both vegan and organic, which many juice enthusiasts will appreciate. A fresh glass of juice will run about $6 and dairy free smoothies about $6-$7. Healthy treats and food are on the menu as well. They even deliver, though there is a minimum $20 order required. It can be found on 7th Avenue and 15th Street in Brooklyn.
Sun in Bloom – On the other end of Park Slope from Stoop Juice, just a few blocks from Grand Army Plaza and the Brooklyn Library, is Sun in Bloom. This vegan restaurant is much more than just a juice bar, but has a nice little juice and smoothie menu as well. Though a glass of one of their juices or smoothies can run as high as $10, customers can grab a nice brunch while sipping their drink, making a healthy and relaxed day of it. Sun in Bloom can be found at 460 Bergen Street.
Fuel – For Brooklyn residents who live a little further south, Fuel in Bay Ridge can fill their juicing needs. Though a full service restaurant with an extensive menu, including meat, their juices are well priced and popular. They also have an extensive shake list starting at only $5, a steal in the juicing world. To top it off, they even deliver, leaving residents no excuse not to give them a try. They are found at 3rd Avenue and Ovington.
