San Antonio is a great town to live in if you are a foodie. There are many great breakfast options, such as breakfast taco, kolaches and donuts. However, even though those are the most popular, there are still great options available if you are looking for a bagel. I am sure that most people will think of Einstein Bros. Bagels, Panera Bread and Dunkin’ Donuts as their only options for bagels in San Antonio, but they better think again.
Located just south of the toughest place to get around in San Antonio (US HWY 281 & Loop 1604), you will find Bagel Factory. Even though you will have to fight plenty of traffic to get to this location weekday mornings, it is well worth it to the bagel connoisseur. Some of the great bagel options include Cinnamon Crunch, Orange Cranberry and Chocolate Chip. With spreads such as Raspberry Chipotle, Serrano Pepper and Maple-Walnut-Raisin, you know that you are coming to a bagel shop that is looking to stimulate your bagel enjoyment. One of the best things on the menus are the bagelaches. That blend the kolache, a Texas favorite, with bagel bread. Using only fine sausages and meats, these treats are downright wonderful.

Chicago Bagel & Deli
In Northwest San Antonio lies the bagel job that may also double ask the Hill Country’s best Jewish bakery. Just outside San Antonio’s Jewish enclave, Alon, is this bagel shop that is renowned in town for its bagels. Many of the city’s finest hotels offer their bagels as part of the daily breakfast options. Great thing about Chicago Bagel and Deli is that there are the options of the traditional bagel with a spread or making a breakfast lunch or sandwich, as it still serves as a deli. The bagel spreads are all made on site, just as the bagels. During the Jewish holiday season, you can get challahs, sponge cakes and honey cakes for those occasions. In addition, you always have a chance to get a bagel with lox and sandwiches with pastrami and corned beef.
