These days there are so many different coffees out there to choose from. We might have our standby java of choice to help jump start our day. Then there are moments where we select a coffee because of its convenience. So I pose this question to you. How about choosing a coffee that not only tastes great, but looks to make an incredible impact on those around the world.
One company is looking to do just that. Grace Hightower De Niro started up a company called Grace Hightower & Coffees of Rwanda. Grace started to learn more about the genocide that was taking place in Rwanda. To try and build some unity Grace created the company to bring the people together. She wanted to give the farmers in Rwanda some hope.
After visiting Rwanda and looking at all her options she started up the company last year that would help those in Rwanda. She created a coffee line. There are four blends of coffee in her line. Those flavors are Medium Light Roast, Medium to Dark Roast, Espresso Roast and a Signature Series.
All of the coffee is sold at retailers such as Whole Foods and Bed Bath & Beyond. You can also order the coffee online. Each bag sells for $12.50. They say that, “Through direct sourcing, fair trade, ethical practices and environmental stewardship, our dedication to the coffee farmers of Rwanda will all ow them to create a sustainable business that can be passed from one generation to the next.” Grace is also looking to open a coffee shop as well to help further the support her cause.
Now for those who want to know how the coffee tastes, well I had to go to someone who I think is a coffee expert. I brought over some of the coffee to my father-in-law. He loves coffee and is somewhat picky on the coffee he drinks. So if he liked it I knew it would be anyone’s favorite new coffee. After his first cup he wanted more. He loved the Espresso Roast.
So the next time you are looking to order coffee and want to help those in need make sure you give Grace Hightower & Coffees of Rwanda a try. You will not only have a great tasting cup of coffee, but you will be starting your day by helping someone in need.
