I’ve dined at some pretty ritzy restaurants over the years. Some of them had multi-course tasting menus, French servers, and tons of dishes I couldn’t begin to describe or even pronounce.
I may sound crazy, but the most decadent, gourmet-tasting, out-of-this-world restaurant I ever went to actually wasn’t any of these places.
Those snooty, uptight, million dollar restaurants are fun on occasion, but the best meal I’ve ever had actually came from inside of a casino. This sounds crazy, right?
Seriously, though, Gordon Ramsay opened a new restaurant inside of Planet Hollywood on The Strip in Las Vegas. He calls the restaurant BurGR.
For both me and my wife to dine like kings only cost about $60 total, but we would have gladly paid the same kind of price that we’ve paid at the glitzy and glamorous establishments we’ve been to over the years.
So, if you ever want to feel like you just ate at a world-class establishment but don’t want to spend that kind of money, I’d strongly recommend checking out BurGR.
Here’s why this restaurant was so much better than any “fancy” restaurant we’ve ever patronized.
So, if you couldn’t guess from the name, BurGR is a burger joint. However, this is by far not a typical burger venue.
All of the meals would definitely qualify as gourmet. I had the Farm Burger. This beef was exceptionally juicy, and it came with a fried egg on top, as well as duck bacon. It was like a gourmet breakfast and supper at the same time! And oh Lord was the bun amazing. The bun was crispy, a little greasy (in a good way), and the seeds on top gave it a nice texture, too.
For my wife’s main entrée, she had the Chanterelle Burger. What made this burger stand out for her was the chanterelle mushrooms, figgy-onion jam, and the arugula. She said it was quite the concoction. The mushrooms were what sealed the deal for her, primarily since they were so earthy and tasty, she said.
We both also got truffle parmesan fries to go with our burgers. They were hand cut, and had sea salt and truffle parmesan “sprinkled” on top. There was so, so much parmesan, but I thought this was a good thing!
My wife was on Cloud 9 after eating the fried with the truffle aioli, and I had a curry ketchup that was also indescribable.
For dessert, we shared Shake # 5. This was a coffee shake, and it had hazelnut pudding on top of the shake, and a praline cookie on top of that! Again, this was relatively inexpensive, but it topped desserts I’ve had at even the snootiest of restaurants!
Our servers were very warm and inviting. They constantly took care of our refills and asked if we needed anything.
They weren’t annoying, but they really kept you taken care of.
That’s another reason why BurGR beat any and every “world class” restaurant I’ve been to. At some of the higher class places, the staff either ignored me and my wife, or they were so busy “helping” us that we couldn’t have an intimate dinner.
Gordon Ramsay’s crew knew just how much to visit us, and they did so without getting in our way or interrupting out conversations.
If you want to go and spend a million bucks on an amazing feast, be my guest. However, if you want food that is just as gourmet tasting and out-of-this-world that will cost you much, much less, check out BurGR.
Gordon Ramsay took all of the things people like about upscale establishments, and he stuck them in his burger restaurant inside of a casino.
Even though your wait staff may not all be somewhat snooty and from other countries, you’ll still fall in love with the folks at BurGR, as well as their food!
