The PS3 version of Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch has a total of 34 trophies, five of which are gold trophies. While trophies don’t offer any mechanical advantage, they do represent bragging rights and help give you a sense of completion in the game. Gold trophies are the hardest to acquire and require considerable additional effort beyond normal game play. Almost every gold trophy in this game requires you to complete the game and then do extra work. The following gold trophy guide for Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch will make sure you don’t miss any.
Familiarologist (Diff: 7) – Creatures have both a genus and a species. There are only 15 genus in the game, but there are approximately 500 species of creatures. You need to tame roughly half of them to get the Familiarologist trophy. Technically this can be completed before the end of the game, since there are over 300 species without including gold species that only appear after you finish the game, but it is very difficult since you need 250 of them. To get this gold trophy you will have to fight a lot and make sure you always have Esther ready. As soon as a creature shows affection, you need her to tame it. Also, many species look very similar, so pay close attention to your Creature Compendium and look at the names of creatures while you are fighting.
King of the World (Diff: 9) – The Guardian of the World is the final secret boss of the game. To battle it, you need to complete every other bounty hunt in the game. You can only get this bounty hunt after you have already defeated the White Witch and won the game. The Guardian of the World isn’t entirely overpowered, but it is incredibly tough. Make sure to level your characters and familiars far beyond where they were when you completed the game and makes sure to equip the best and rarest equipment you can find. Like any boss battle, you may have to try it a few times to win and you want to save before attempting it. Also, since this is effectively the last battle of the game, don’t be shy about using consumable items in battle.
Mad Scientist (Diff: 10) – There are 134 alchemy recipes in the game and to obtain this trophy you need to complete 120 of them. This feat can’t be completed until after completing the main storyline of the game, because some of the items required for 16 of the alchemy recipes can only be acquired after the completion of the game. In order to get this trophy, first you need at least 120 recipes. The main way to get these recipes is to talk to everyone you find. If you talk to every NPC multiple times, you will have at least 120 recipes at the end of the game, and probably all of them. There is a major difficulty beyond obtaining all the recipes. You need to acquire all the items used in alchemy and make all the items. This will take a lot of time, especially for at least two of the items which will require you to steal from and defeat golden creatures after completing the game.
Solosseum Supremo (Diff: 10) – As the name suggests, you need to win every single rank of the Solosseum to obtain this trophy. The rank S battles make the battle with the Guardian of the World look easy. You basically need all of your characters to be level 99 to win these battles. One of the major difficulties is that you can’t use items during the battle. You are entirely reliant on spells and skills. Conserve magic points as much as you can and know when to defend. If you lose any characters, except during the final battle, just quit and reload. You might have a chance during the final battle if the enemies are almost defeated. Assuming you have already earned every other bad before this one, you should have great equipment, maxed out stats on your familiars and all the character spells and skills in the game, which means you should have a fighting chance.
Super Hero (Diff: 9) – Super Hero gold trophy requires you to earn every single Merit Award in the game. There are exactly enough Merit Stamps to complete exactly enough Merit Stamp Cards to get every Merit Award. That means you need to complete every errand and every bounty hunt. You can’t do this until after completing the main storyline of the game. In general, while errands take time, they aren’t very difficult. As for bounty hunts, you should finish all the bounty hunts at the same time that you get the King of the World gold trophy. Thus, as soon as you get the trophy, head to Swift Solutions, buy your last Merit Award, and get this trophy.
