We all suffer from dry eyes at one time or another and the decision to use commercial products or home remedies is always present. I personally recommend home remedies because of their natural nature over commercial products. Give these remedies a try and see if they don’t give you relief from your tired sore eyes.
Fennel Seeds – Create a mixture consisting of warm water and fennel seeds by measuring out one cup of boiled water and adding one teaspoon of dried fennel seeds to it. This is a natural remedy for dry eyes and if you soak your eyes for about twenty minutes they will become moisturized and the irritation will be reduced. You can apply this mixture by soaking a cotton ball in the solution and applying to yours eyes. It’s best to make yourself comfortable by laying down somewhere undisturbed until twenty minutes have past.
Omega-3 Fatty Acids – This is the source of what makes flax seed a cure for dry eyes when mixed in the same way as the fennel seeds listed above, you can get it in a few other foods. Milk which contains Vitamin A, as does almonds and leafy green vegetables. Fish is another food rich in omega-3 which can be taken in supplement form but it is best to be consumed in its natural form.
Coriander Leaves – You can make a natural extract from these leaves and use them in the same manner as eye eye drops. Take a few of the coriander leaves and grind them until you have extracted some juice from them. Have a dropper ready and pour this liquid into it and use two drops a couple of times a day. This will sooth your eyes and also help with the itch and grittiness feeling we get from the air.
Aloe Vera – You can do the same procedure with this as you did with the coriander. Aloe Vera is good for so many things like sunburns or burns of any kind for that matter. Once you have your extract you will freeze until you are ready to apply it to your eyes. When ready take a cotton ball, wet it with some cold water and then rub it on the frozen Aloe Vera, rub this mixture over your eyes.
Juice – Believe it or not, juice can sooth your dry sore eyes. Indian gooseberry is an excellent juice to use, simply mix it with a teaspoon of honey. To sooth you eyes you only need to drink this mixture twice a day. Use this same mixture to fight infections or boost your immunity naturally. If you don’t have Indian gooseberry juice you can always use carrot juice.
