Eat like a king at your next party with a feast inspired by “Game of Thrones” edibles. If you’re having a GoT party, your event just isn’t complete without certain dishes and drinks.
Drinks
Every good party should have a selection of drinks, and it’s very easy to offer beverages that characters on “Game of Thrones” might enjoy.
-
Dragon’s blood punch: Use any red beverage to offer your guests dragon’s blood punch. To really make it part of the theme, add some spicy flavors to the brew. A little cinnamon extract and peppermint extract will make the punch taste more fiery.
-
Westeros stout: Serve any stout beer in large mugs to give your guests Westeros stout. Beer is served all over the Seven Kingdoms, not just in the pubs and taverns.
-
Dornish wine: Peel the label off any bottle of sweet, red wine to give your guests Dornish wine, mentioned more than once on the TV series. To make the bottles part of the decor, make your own labels and print them out. There are many templates for custom bottle labels online.
Appetizers
Serve small bites to guests so they can nibble on edibles while enjoying the party. Offer up appetizers that are worthy of the Red Keep.
-
Raven’s eyeballs: Sounds gruesome, but you don’t have to serve real raven’s eyeballs. The name is a nod to the three-eyed raven that has featured so prominently in the story. Serve meatballs in their own sauce with toothpicks to give guests this deceptively simple dish.
-
Roasted dragon eggs: Any deviled egg dish can become roasted dragon eggs in the right setting. Get creative by dyeing the eggs before deviling them. Use some of the crushed shell in the display.
-
King’s Landing brown bread: More than once in the story, brown bread has been seen and mentioned. This means no “Game of Thrones” party can be complete without it. Bake your own if you’re handy with an oven, or purchase a loaf of brown bread from a bakery to complete your feast.
Main Course
To truly give your guests a kingly feast at your ” Game of Thrones ” party, you need a main course. For the main course, you can serve almost anything you like. The Seven Kingdoms span many habitats, so you have lots of choices.
-
Pyke pike: Serve a fish dish and name it Pyke pike. Those from the Iron Islands have embraced the culture of the sea, after all.
-
North porridge: Offer guests oatmeal or grits and call it North porridge. Northmen need hearty, hot foods in order to survive their long winters.
-
Roasted King’s Forest boar: Serve any roasted meat to offer guests a roast boar from King’s Forest, perhaps even the same one that killed the great Robert Baratheon.
-
Winter is coming stew: As they say in the North, winter is coming. Prepare for it by giving your party guests a hearty stew rich with vegetables and meat.
Dessert
Finish off your feast with dessert, and the “Game of Thrones” meal is complete. Sansa Stark mentions specifically that lemon cake is her favorite, so this is the perfect finisher. Serve it as an entire cake, as cupcakes or both.
