Events in Peoria, Illinois
There will be two major events in Peoria, Illinois.
Peoria’s festivities will begin the day before on July 3rd with fireworks in the Glen Oak Amphitheater. Fireworks will begin at dusk, but free music from the Peoria Municipal Band and food will begin earlier in the afternoon. If you want a close parking spot you will need to come early afternoon, otherwise you will most likely be parking on a side street and walking.
There will be many locations to see Fireworks in Peoria on the Fourth of July. The actual fireworks location will be Red White and Boom on the Riverfront. Fireworks will start at 9:30pm, the actual celebration will start Thursday and end Saturday. For more information visit the event website.
The Peoria Historical Society will host a fireworks viewing for up to 200 people. The event opens at 6PM at the John C Flanagan House Museum. $5 for adults, $3 for children.
Peoria Heights typically has their tower open both nights for fireworks. Seating is very limited and regulars/reservations get priority. Visit their website for more information.
Events in Surrounding Cities
Marquette Heights will have a fireworks extravaganza on June 29th at 6PM at Marquette Heights Park.
Chillicothe will have fireworks on the 4th at Cutright Park. Festivities will begin at 4PM with fireworks at 9PM.
Elmwood will have fireworks at dusk on the 4th at Sweetwater Park.
Eureka will have a all day event at Eureka Lake on the 4th. Breakfast will be served from 6:30am to 9:30am, $5 for adults and $3 for kids. The event will also include a parade, cookout, kid’s fishing derby, inflatables, local entertainment, and fireworks at dusk.
Enjoy the Fourth of July in Peoria! Plan your event well beforehand and if you’re going to one of the larger events see if you can carpool with friends to conserve parking as most of these events will have very limited parking.
