On the Fourth of July, I like to look festive. However, I don’t like to look like a giant American flag. Typically, I try to find some red, white and blue in my closet that looks patriotic without overdoing it. Then, I’ll enjoy the local parade, fireworks and, of course, be thankful for my independence. Here are some cute red, white and blue outfits for women to wear on the Fourth of July.
Lady in Red
A punch of red is an easy way to create a red, white and blue outfit. A great red circle skirt looks nice with any white and blue striped tank or shirt. Finish off your look with some white or navy sandals. You can also add more red in a jumper or red sundress. Add blue and white accessories (such as a belt, shoes or purse) to complete your red, white and blue ensemble.
Stars and Stripes
Subtle stars and stripes do not have to be cheesy. You can be stylish and comfortable in this red and white striped t-shirt dress from Edith A. Miller. If you’re more partial to stars, you might want to try this pleated star chambray skirt from Gap with a plain white t-shirt. Add red sandals to finish off the outfit. Finally, this white star print tank from Old Navy will match with any red, blue or jean shorts (however, don’t wear a white shirt if you are planning to take part in any water balloon tossing or other water games). You can always add some more star power to your outfit with some simple star earrings or star charm on a necklace.
I own a lot of blue. Sometimes, I will look in my closet and realize I only have blue and white clothing to wear for the fourth. However, I can easily change this with red or patriotic shoes. These women’s stars-and-stripes flip-flops add some red, white and blue to any basic Fourth of July outfit. These classic white Converse one-star sneakers with red and blue accents are great if you will be active on the fourth.
Red, White and Blue Outfits for the Evening
I live in Southern California so sometimes I forget its gets cold in the evening. If you want to look patriotic while watching fireworks, add a simple red, white or blue hoodie. For more of a themed look, throw on this navy sweater with white stars from Old Navy. Pair it with some fitted red pants or your favorite jeans and red ballet flats.
Add in a Neutral
You don’t have to wear head-to-toe red, white and blue. If you are wearing a blue and white striped shirt along with red shoes, don’t feel like you have to run out and buy some red shorts. A pair of black pants or shorts will work just fine.
These red, white and blue outfits will look great in your Fourth of July pictures!
