Constipation is a very uncomfortable condition. It occurs when you have difficulty passing stools. This can be very painful. It can even increase your risk of hemorrhoids.
There are a variety of treatments for constipation. Constipation can easily be treated, by simply eating the right foods. They include foods high in fiber. Here are a few foods to relieve constipation:
Prunes can be used to help relieve constipation. They are high in insoluble fiber and in the natural laxative, sorbitol. They stimulate muscles to push waste through the large intestine. Just eat about four, before breakfast. Then, eat another four, an hour before bed. Drink water with it, to speed up the process.
Flax seeds are great for helping to relieve constipation. They also help ease bloating and abdominal pain. Just grind them, with a coffee grinder. Then, sprinkle them onto oatmeal, cereal, or on smoothies. You could also add a teaspoon of ground flaxseeds, to a cup of warm milk. Then, drink it before bed. Also, always drink a large glass of water, with the flaxseeds. This will help to quickly soften your stool.
Beans help to treat constipation and maintain a healthy digestive system. They are high in fiber content. Fiber absorbs fluid to soften waste material. This helps the stool to easily be eliminated from the colon. Beans are great with most foods, such as chicken, steak, etc. They help keep your digestive system running smoothly. Eat a variety of beans, to increase fiber levels. This can include kidney beans, peas, or lentils.
Lack of water, can cause constipation and dehydration. You should pay attention to the amount of water you drink a day. Drink, at least, eight glasses a day. Water hydrates the cells and supplies the colon with fluids. The fluids mix with stool and allow for proper elimination.
