Have you ever had a bad hair disaster? Everyone has a bad hair day now and then, but sometimes you can have a real beauty pitfall. Even I have been known to have a bad hair disaster that I needed to know how to fix quickly. For example, trying to dye my hair myself and having it come out different colors than originally intended. Here are some tips on how to avoid bad hair disasters:
Sometimes it really is worth laying out more money to have a professional hair colorist color your hair. I have had some pretty awful hair dying experiences trying to dye my hair myself. There was one time when I tried dying dark hair blond. It didn’t go well at all. My hair turned purple and green. If you have the money, definitely get you hair done by a professional. You will probably have way less hair disasters to fix that way.
Quality Hair Dye
The first thing I did wrong when trying to dye my hair was to buy a cheap brand of hair dye. Do not ever do that. I bought a $3 box of hair color because I liked the color on the box, and it was inexpensive. The saying, “You buy what you pay for” is accurate. I bought a cheap box of hair dye, and the results came out horrible. If you are going to dye your hair on your own, buy some quality hair dye even if you have to lay out more money for it. It is worth it not to have to buy more boxes of hair dye later on to cover up the hair disasters that were made by using inferior hair dye in the first place.
Knowing You Color
I learned a hard lesson that day when I tried to dye my hair blond over dark hair. You cannot do that well usually. In order to fix my purple and green dye job I had to buy an even darker hair color to cover the mess I had made with my hair trying to dye it blond. So instead of going lighter, I had to go darker to fix my hair disaster. I have learned that it is always best to go either a few shades darker or lighter of your own natural hair for the best hair results if you are dying your hair yourself. I hope these tips help others to avoid the same beauty pitfalls that I made.
