April 15 is nearly here. Again. That dreaded day when Uncle Sam gets his pound of flesh. But you can come out a winner on Tax Day, even if you’re not expecting any refund check this year. There are plenty of U.S., restaurant chains, mostly of the fast food variety, offering freebies or other sweet deals to help take the sting out of Tax Day. Here are five of the best.
Arby’s: Aiming to provide their valued customers with “a little relief” this April 15, America’s leading roast beef sandwich chain is giving away free value-sized Curly Fries all day. Citing a study that concluded people who ‘liked’ Curly Fries on Facebook have higher IQs, Arby’s says it’s gifting “food for thought.” And here’s a thought: $500 off your 2014 tax bill. That’s what Arby’s is offering, in the form of 10 “tax relief payouts.” Limit one value-sized Curly Fries per customer at participating locations, while supplies last.
Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt: As part of its “Year of Flavor” campaign, the Oklahoma-based fro-yo chain is letting customers “catch a break on tax day” with a special “Fill Your Cup for $4.15” special. You can claim this great discount on Orange Leaf’s Facebook page. Then bring the coupon to any Orange Leaf store on April 15 and fill your cup with as much frozen yogurt and as many toppings as you like! It all works out to about a 50 percent discount.
Great American Cookies: The cookie may not crumble in your favor this tax day, but here’s something sweet to cheer you up: Everyone loves free. And almost everyone loves cookies. And so it is that Great American Cookies “declares cookies for all on Tax Day!” The company’s perennial “Incomes the Sweetness” promotion entitles customers to one free Original Chocolate Chip Cookie at participating locations. What a sweet deal!
Scholtzky’s Deli: America’s favorite deli chain is offering a free “The Original” sandwich- lean smoked ham, genoa and cotto salami and melted cheddar, parmesan and mozzarella cheeses on toasted sourdough- with the purchase of any 32 oz. drink and chips.
HydroMassage: We know, this one isn’t food-related. But tell me who out there couldn’t use a little relaxing stress relief come Tax Day? HydroMassage knows this and is offering absolutely free massages from April 14-18. Call ahead to make sure your local store is participating in this awesome deal.
