Want to know five great tips to help you become a grilling god? Then you’ve made the right turn! I will list five great tips that will make you look at grilling in a whole new different way and explain to you how it strengthens your “skills on the grills.”
Grilling has became a popular way of cooking all around the world and even a hobby for many, mainly the male gender. Please do trust me when I say that anyone can grill but not everyone can do it great… Now, with that said, where most people go wrong when grilling is when they think that you just gather some wood, light it then lay some seasoned meat and woolah, you’re grilling! Well.. maybe you are grilling but not in a very effective way at all.. In fact, making this mistake can and most of the times will ruin your meat. Let’s cut to the chase and get to the good part now. The tips!
Season your meat and sauce before starting your grill!
Why might you ask? You want most of your seasoning on your meat and not coming off to stick to the grill so by seasoning your meat before starting the grill gives your meat just enough time to suck in the tastes and contents of the seasoning.
Allow your grill to really heat up before applying meat!
You should always allow your grill to heat up for at least 30 minutes before applying meat especially if you’re using coal. When you do not allow your grill to fully heat up before applying meat then some parts of the grill will be hotter than the other parts resulting in half burnt and half raw meat! Sounds nasty huh? Haha
Clean your grill after it’s heated up!
You want your meat to taste like the fire burns from your grill so you need to find a way to clean it and keep it cleaned. My personal method which I haven’t shared slicing half of an onion, sticking a fork through it to rub the onion all over the surface of the grill. The acids from the onions will get that grill cleaned in no time!
Now for the moment we’ve all been waiting for *drum rolls*
Apply your meat, but do not to put too many meat on the grill at one time
You can now apply your meat for as long as you want all depending on how you like your meat it can be rare, medium rare .. or even BURNT! Haha but no, we don’t want to burn our meat so I would advise repositioning/flipping your meat evert 10 – 20 minutes. Placing too many meat on the grill at one time may and most likely will result in confusion and some half raw half cooked meat.
Apply your sauce before or after taking the meat from the grill
Personally I would apply just a little sauce 5 minutes before taking my meat off of the grill and just a slight more than I applied the first time afterwards with a soft grilling brush. By doing this your meat will have a little taste of the sauce on the inside and a little on the outside.. brilliant huh?
So remember these five tips exactly in this order if you want a great turn out:
- Season your meat and sauce before starting your grill!
- Allow your grill to really heat up before applying meat!
- Clean your grill after it’s heated up! Never before!
- Apply your meat, but do not to put too many meat on the grill at one time!
- Apply your sauce before or after taking it from the grill!
If these tips has been followed, you should have cooked something amazing!
