Once upon a time, breakfast had to include the bacon and eggs menu prepared the traditional way, especially in southern hamlets like mine. However, tourists coming to visit Elvis’ birthplace have the luxury of breakfast variety. Tucked away in charming establishments are some of the best breakfast burritos in northern Lee County.
Dining in Historic Downtown Tupelo
Locals love dining at The Hilton Garden Inn. And if you’re a tourist staying overnight, all you have to do is call room service and order probably the best-tasting, mouth-watering breakfast burrito in town. Located in the heart of downtown, on route to Elvis’ birthplace, it’s popular with both tourists and locals. It’s in walking distance of other downtown attractions; dining is pleasant, personal, and luxurious.
Breakfast burritos in typical places
You expect to find burritos at Taco Bell, given the name–since the breakfast burrito originated in a café in Santa Fe, New Mexico. And for those partial to Taco Bell’s cuisine, dining in is a quaint experience. Located conveniently on Gloster Street, the main thoroughfare leads to all exits and connections to your destination. You’ll love the accessibility.
Never be blue again
Since The Blue Canoe isn’t open during breakfast hours, the breakfast burrito isn’t on the menu, but they do serve them. The Blue Canoe is as curious as its name, but once inside, you understand all its meaning. Menu items are simply delicious, especially the breakfast burrito–which you have to order for lunch because the restaurant doesn’t open until 11:00 AM and closes at 12:00 AM. Nobody complains about opening time because it’s in the center of business movement on North Gloster Street in the restaurant district. And you get the bonus of live entertainment with your meals.
Find the best in strange places
Chick-fil-A added breakfast burritos to its menu, and you owe it to yourself to try it. There are three convenient locations in Tupelo:
- 830 North Gloster Street at North Mississippi Medical Center
- 1001 Barnes Crossing Road, Suite 14 at the Mall at Barnes Crossing
- 908 Barnes Crossing Road at Thompson Square
The medical center location grants easy access to those visiting patients. Food at this locale tastes really good. Traffic at the Barnes Crossing Mall more than accommodates the many restaurants on site. Chick-fil-A makes a very competitive breakfast burrito. It has a taste that’s unique to its brand; and it’s in the hub of trade and commerce in this part of Tupelo.
