I’m ashamed to say that I didn’t know very much about Fendi other than it’s a designer name that originated in Rome. That was all I knew, and after doing a little research, I still don’t know much about Fendi, but I learned a few interesting facts about them.
What I learned is that the brand all began with four sisters that chose a young male designer to join forces with them–a very well known one at that. I’ll reveal his name to you later.
One thing that I did know about Fendi is that they have very quirky designs. They use a lot of bright colors (yellow is their signature), fur (which is also a signature look within the Fendi collection), and lots of bold graphic lines. I find many of the designs attractive although some are a little weird. But most are very fun, bright, and quirky. Speaking of fun, according to the Fendi website, one of the F’s on the logo stands for fun. What a fun fact!
I swoon over several designers, but I never developed a connection with Fendi. Their style was so different from what usually draws my attention. But I was still curious about them. I really wanted to know who was behind the quirky designs. I found out that it’s all the fault of a lady named Sylvia Venturini and the great Karl Lagerfeld, whom was chosen by those four sisters many years ago to help lead their company. From what I understand, the Fan Di Fendi‘s perfume bottle is actually inspired by a buckle they have on one of their handbags. How creative? The more fragrances that are made, the less impressive they seem, but it’s nice to see that some fragrances still have some creativity.
You guys, this fragrance smells as good as it looks, if not better. It has a slightly unisex scent due to the citrus notes. It smells a lot like grapefruit and lemon, and there is a note in there that reminds me of honeysuckle. The scent is super versatile. It can be wear both casually and formally. You can practically wear it anywhere. It has a baby powder softness to it that makes it wearable.
I love this perfume. It’s the perfect scent for a company like Fendi. It fits in well with all the quirky, fun designs. The citrus matches well with the bright, sunny colors.
I think Fendi has a solid fragrance here. This fragrance gave me a great impression of what Fendi is about and makes me want to continue to learn more about their company. There aren’t many designers that have fragrances that fit in well into their clothing collection, but this one definitely does. If you love Fendi, then you’ll love Fan Di Fendi.
