I have always been a bit empathic, but the intensity of this often fluctuates. Sometimes I am very empathic. It is an “emotional transference,” of sorts, and goes hand in hand with another type of transference – “energy transference.”
As to “energy transference” from one being to another, I have experienced this going both ways. I have at times acted as a healer of sorts. When I ran a thrift store for a number of years, I noticed my same “little old ladies” coming in weekly or monthly and leaving very rejuvenated from a simple hug, or even from my mere presence. I myself would occasionally go home very drained, but was always able to ground and rejuvenate myself quickly.
I was also able at one time to take my youngest child’s migraines away , simply by force of will. At first this had an effect on me, but as time went on, I learned to balance myself, and let the universal energies flow through me, as opposed to only out of me.
On the other hand, as a musician and singer/songwriter, I have always felt a great influx of energy during performances. The same is true, to a certain extent with all my creative efforts, arts, writing, acting, etc. I have also experienced this in crowds, and in one-on-one interactions, at times.
The point of all these things is that you don’t want to be an “energy sucker”, and leave friends and loved ones feeling drained of energy when they are around you. However, you should not allow others to “suck the life” from you either. We are intended to be conduits of the universal energy that is all around us, not batteries.
Sharing this energy with those around us, especially those in need, is a good thing. This is an energy transference in which you are a conduit, but if they are intentionally “draining” so much from you that it effects you either physically, or emotionally – that is wrong. That is an energy transference in which you are being used because the person in question does not realize that there is universal energy all around them at all times.
These people are often called “psychic vampires,” and that is perhaps as apt a term as “energy sucker.” While the energy in crowds, and the energy exchanged in healing are a “sharing” of these things, psychic vampirism is not. It is a selfish act that can hurt, and will never help. Universal law calls for balance in all things, even emotions and energies.
If one simply opens themselves up to these energies, the universe will give them all they need. There is no need to “steal” it, so to speak. Balance is required, and you will be forced to “ante up” up some point. Why steal from others what is all around you to begin with?
