Kids Love Getting Their Hands Dirty
The plus side to these recipes are that they serve two major purposes. To entertain and please. Kids absolutely love sweets of any kind. They also happen to enjoy making a mess. These desserts can keep young ones happily entertained/occupied and reward them for their help when it’s all said and done.
You will need:
-1 cup of powdered sugar
-1/2 a cup of butter
-1 pound of crushed Oreo cookies
-8 ounces of cream cheese
-12 ounces of whipped cream
-1 teaspoon of vanilla
-2 packages of instant vanilla pudding (3.5 ounces)
-4 cups of milk
To begin making this messy treat, make sure you crush up the required pound of Oreo cookies and have them placed to the side. After that is finished, combine the butter and cream cheese until the mixture appears smooth. If you’d like, you can add some sugar to the combination to soften the cream cheese taste. Then add the whipped cream. In a completely separate bowl, mix the instant pudding and milk according to the directions on the box. Then pour in the teaspoon of vanilla. Once the bowl is mixed well, combine it with the cream cheese bowl you made first. Lastly, pour crushed cookies in the bottom of a glass dish or pan, then pour a layer of the creamy mixture, then another layer of cookies. Repeat the process as many times as you would like and make sure to top it off with crushed cookies as the last layer. When that’s all done, place in the icebox until you’re ready to serve it!
Rocky Road S’mores Bars
You will need:
-1/2 a cup of butter or margarine
-1/2 a cup of light brown sugar
-1 cup of flour
-1/2 a cup of graham cracker crumbs
-2 cups of miniature marshmallows
-1 package of semi-sweet chocolate morsels (6 ounces)
-1/2 a cup of chopped pecans
The first task in making these super sweet bars is to use an electric mixer to beat together the brown sugar and butter/margarine until it appears fluffy. Once that’s all mixed, add the flour and graham cracker crumbs and stir very well. Then grease the pan of your choice and press the mix to the bottom evenly. After it has been molded and shaped as desired, and spread the marshmallows, chocolate morsels and pecans on top in whatever order you desire. Once you’ve added the toppings, bake the bars at 375 degrees for around 15 to 20 minutes when the top layer is golden brown. Lastly, allow them to cool off for a while and then proceed to cut them to desired size, and enjoy!
