The cleaning applications inside my home for the new Dupray Tosca steam cleaner are endless. After three months of use, I haven’t discovered them all for sure. Steam not only cleans, but also disinfect without having to use cleaning chemicals harmful to the whole family, our pets and the environment. I bought the Dupray Tosca mainly because I was concerned about the baby and the dogs crawling on the floors, right on top of the chemical film left by harsh cleaning products. I needed a safe and efficient cleaning solution. To make a long story short, I decided on Dupray after reading hundreds of reviews, and this one is my contribution.
I ordered the commercial-grade steamer because I really wanted a machine that would last for years, not a cheap plastic one. The machine came quickly, after just a couple of days. I started using it on the floor of course then tried the steam lance on grout lines. It worked even better than what I saw on the videos, which I thought were altered or fake like most sales pitches.
With the Dupray Tosca Steam Cleaner I can use any type of cloth and clip it to the floor tool. I use thick microfiber because they work best on tiles.
As for the performance of the Tosca steam cleaner itself; so far the machine works perfectly well. Everything about it feels solid and built to last. I can see why some small business or restaurants would want to have one of these. The steam pressure is constant, but the maximal pressure seems to be there only for sporadic use. This doesn’t bother me much because you don’t need that much steam pressure unless you are cleaning very dirty or greasy objects. What you need is steam density and this is where the Tosca delivered. I love that this machine has a digital display with the active temperature, an hour counter and a maintenance reminder (the only maintenance needed is a quick boiler drain every 50 hours of use according to the manual).
Not only did I sanitize my floors with this machine, I also discovered many other uses for it. The Tosca comes packed with several attachments, brushes, lance, floor tool, triangular upholstery tool, plus the power cord is long enough that I have a very large cleaning radius.
The next step was to try it in the bathroom on soap scum build up. Steam seems to cut through residues like no other product out there. Using the steam lance with a detail brush around the sink allowed me to remove mineralization and stains around the faucet and shower area. I cleaned perfectly the tracks on the shower doors and they came back like new!
One of the nice tool in the kit is the window tool, that I use to clean mirrors and glass shower doors. The soap spots came right off. I wiped them down with a dry cloth and they sparkled. It is nice to clean windows with no streaking at all.
Steam cleaning can be done virtually anywhere inside your house. In the kitchen (fridge, stove, countertops…), in the bedroom (mattresses, chairs, blinds…), in the living room (sofas, wool carpet, around the fireplace…), in the garage (garden tools, bicycle, patio furniture, inside the car) and more.
My husband tried the Tosca on our minivan. Using the triangular tool with a microfiber cloth, he was able to clean the fabric seats and remove stubborn smells with steam. The lance was useful to remove heavy food stains and dust the console and vents. Cup holders, door openings and bins came totally clean. It is possible to steam clean the whole car carpet but it is recommended to vacuum after to remove all moisture, as minimal as it can be.
There are just so many uses for this portable Dupray Tosca Steam Cleaner, we personally love steam cleaning and having this efficient cleaning tool around the house. Me and my husband highly recommend the Dupray Tosca Steam Cleaner. This machine not only cleans well and is a really good detailing unit, but it also saves money in the long run when you don’t have to purchase cleaning products anymore.

- Digital dial
- Maintenance reminder
- Build quality
- User manual could be more complete
- Not continuous refill, but gives out a good 1h30min of constant steam
